  1. You can barely call that driving. With aerodeck it feels like making love!!
  2. Thank you very much. I have an idea. Let's look at it from other perspective, as in looking at the problem without the option of the car telling us what the fault is. Let's analyze. 1. In the morning (after 10-12 hours of rest) the error seems to gone. (every morning) 2. After 9-12 minutes of driving the ABS AND the VSA lights come on simultaneously after the engine is shut down or in motion. 3. After 9 hours of rest (while i am at work) i start the engine and the lights are STILL ON! 4. When the ABS light is OFF the ABS works, when the light is ON the ABS doesn't work. ( so the system sees something wrong and shuts the ABS off ) 5. No problems in the grounds or 12v pins of the ABS plug. 6. No problems in the fuses. How is it possible for 10-12 hours of rest (AT NIGHT) the error to clear itself but for like 9 hours (while i am at work) NOT ? I was thinking could it be something like over heating in the ABS module. But if that would be the case how come it doesn't cool down for 9 hours ? ( maybe it doesn't have time to clear the error up) The other thing is ... is there a possibility that there is some kind of a fault that is just excluded from the ABS fault list and that's why it cannot be shown ?
  3. First i want to thank you for your time, good sir! I just did a reset on the ECU according to the DIY tutorial and absolutely nothing changed. The routine was the exact same as every other day. Started up the car in the morning, NO lights were on ( as usual ), arrived to work, turned the engine off and on check the ABS and VSA stayed on. Took out the key and unplugged the 2 fuses for the ECU and the backup on, waited for 10 minutes straight, then installed them back on, started the engine and waited for another 10 minutes straight on idle without pressing any pedals, after that i turned the engine off again for 2 minutes and noticed the ABS and VSA lights had not gone off (the clock and the radio settings have all gone to "factory"). When i tried to read the fault codes again nothing happened, the lights remained that way without any blinking whatsoever. It's overly frustrating!
  4. If i reset it by disconnecting the battery the light would probably go off and again no error would be shown i think. I mean what is the point in trying to read abs fault codes if the abs lamp is off. But i think ill give it a shot.
  5. It's as if when you let it rest for like 10 hours the error clears it self but when you drive for few kilometers on the next day, turn the engine off and then try again the light wont go off for like the rest of the day.
  6. ABS not working with light on, but in the morning for instance, when the light is off the ABS works fine.
  7. Ok, lets leave the VSA light on the side and look at the ABS problem (although i think they are both indicators for a mutual problem). But for the sake of progress lets think of the ABS problem as a sepparate one. What can i do when i can't read the error codes for some reason so i can locate the problem? Change every part one by one? Is that the only way? BTW i checked all that has to be checked according to the repair manual, the fuses, the relays, grounds etc. no luck so far.
  8. In my oppinion it's absolutely useless to put rear speakers, especially in these small and shallow holes. They do not have VOLUME, they are open... i know it looks like they are with some small volume but actually they are open air. The best thing you can do is to keep the original honda speakers infront or buy some descent ones, put tweetеrs infront of ya (http://imgur.com/df3ORsU) and subwoofer in the trunk. If you really want rear loundness you can either put a box in the trunk with mid to bass speakers or make the whole trunk volume with some kind of a wooden platform instead of the trunk cover. PS: The original honda speakers are pretty damn good btw. I swapped them with alpine 2 ways but with tweeters upstairs it's absolutely useless, i have a friend who still has the original speakers and i cannot hear a difference.
  9. First of all not all 1.4 civics have ABS, mine has. I thought it was pretty clear that the problem is in the ABS and not in the hand break and/or the breaks. My breaks work perfectly and i changed the break fluid and tested the cables on the cap of the break fluid reservoir and it all works perfectly fine. As in for the codes, as you can see i've read all that can be read and went through all the tutorials about how to get the codes but in my case the ABS and VAS lamps, when they light up at some point they STAY LIGHTED UP whatever you do. So for instance if you were to try to get the codes with that 5pin plug that i read about in other topics you have to do it when the ABS lamp is on so it indicates some problem BUT when you do that the ABS and VAS lights DON'T BLINK. They are just ON even with the cable short circuited on the 3rd and the 5th pins. And for that i can't see what the actual problem is ... no blinking therefor no codes ;//
  10. Hello everyone i'm new here, just registered. I have a problem with the ABS system apparently. Few weeks ago my ABS and VAS lamps on the dash (the lamp that signals hand break also) lighted up. There are few things i figured but still have no idea what to do. 1. When i start the car in the morning sometimes there seems to be no problem with the ABS, as in no lights are on. But when i drive for few minutes and then stop the car for like 5-10 mins they light back on. 2. When i pull the hand break the light for VAS starts shining more brightly ( i don't know if that has anything to do with it ) I know there are 2 plugs for reading codes near the glovebox, One is 2p plug for the engine codes and the other is 5p plug for the ABS codes. The problem is that my 5p plug has only 4 wires (2,3,4, and 5 (1-empty)), and when i have the ABS and VAS lights on and short circuit 3 and 5 on the 5p plug nothing happens, ABS and VAS are lighted up but no bleeping. That happens on my aerodeck 1.4 MB8 Thank you all in advance!
