Leaking roof

Question

My civic is parked up on my driveway since few weeks and today after a week I went to start it and noticed whole interior is mouldy it smells bad. I noticed wet headlining from drivers front top corner. So took whole headlining off and was shocked to see water spots everywhere on the roof, the passenger front corner was mostly dry. I took roof strips off but found no cracks in them but have found holes on both sides on front of roof where the roof strips sit. The hole on passenger side is larger but weird how passenger side isn't wet. So I'm quite confused. I also checked sunroof, opened the sunroof and found drivers corner area wet and small puddle of water on the side. I wiped it off with a cloth. The two round holes on sunroof, what are they?

Sounds like the sunroof drains are blocked mate, very common problem on the civic M's. Another place that gives the same problem you're having is the seal around the front windscreen. It's bonded, but the bond breaks down through time and even the tiniest gap in the seal lets the water in, soaking the top corners of the roof lining and also the floor. Best cure if its that is to remove the trim around the outside of the screen, and silicon or tiger seal all the way around it. More expensive route is to get a new windscreen fitted.

But start with the sunroof drains first mate. Have a look around the forum, there's plenty of posts on this as it is really common fault.

Hi checked this morning and think the passenger side front sunroof drain hole might be slightly blocked. I poured water on both drain holes directly and I can see driver side drain hole sucking in water and releasing through bottom of wing but for passenger side, I cannot tell if it's sucking because water shifts to driver's side. I looked underneath the passenger side wing and can see just a little bit of water coming out. So I guess the passenger side is slightly blocked as not much water goes in or comes out from it. How do I fix this?

Pipe cleaner? Air?

I took my front mud flap off late last year and cleared out all the crud that was in there. If that's causing a slight blockage, water could slowly fill the sunroof drain and cause a leak.

Worth running some sealant around the windscreen corners too just under the roof liner.
