ash d-series
Its more likely to be valve stem seals than piston rings, if it was rings you would probably have trouble with starting due to loss of compression

I think that both should be replaced.

civicturbo79
I would use standard headgasket and valve stem seals, i do not think you well get anything out of the extra cost . As for the plugs i would go for Denso IridiumRich.
digitalfaze
Ok denso it is,the head gasket says it raises compression, i plan on doin more mods to the car in future so would it not be better to put the better spoon parts in while i can
civicturbo79
I ran 379 bhp 26psi of boost all on a standard honda headgasket and it never let go , so im sure you will not blow it with n/a mods . Rich.
SteveMB6
imo some aftermarket parts are a waste of money, unless you have very big plans
digitalfaze
I want to get this car to 200+bhp but really want to have some decent power in the low revs, i think they are crap up to 4500rpm, but dont know which way to do it, i am thinking throttle body and inlet manifold , exhaust first off, then cams, springs, retainers, cam gears, a good map then hopefully i will be looking to put some pistons in to get it all running sweet.Would love to turbo it in the future too . But the things i have in my basket just nowHonda Head GasketDenso plugsMagnecor Ignition leadsValve stem seals (not sure on honda or spoon?)Timing belt, will i need a tensioner bearing?Professional Products Throttle Body unsure of the size but here is the link: http://www.funkypower.co.uk/catalogue.p ... oduct=4312Then the next buy will be a Skunk2 inlet manifoldWhat do you think?
