x7thegoatest
Hello, I am quite beginner in all this car stuff. I own a MB8 civic and love it, but I have noticed that my brake disks have started to have this "lifted" edge and was thinking about swapping my disks and pads, but I am unsure how can I know if the rears are not AKEBONO and are Lucas/TRW/Girling. I thought the difference is in the sizes, but no, there are akenobo pads which are same size as girling pads. I notice that my front pads are "longer", more rectangular and front disks are slightly bigger. At the back I have smaller disks than the front ones and smaller pads also, they are again rectangular, but maybe only 2/3's of the size of the front ones. I dont know what can I provide as info to yall so I can get the best help, I can show you what Ive been looking at and what I plan to be buying for my car if everything is how I think it is. I think that both front and rear ones are girling/trw/lucas, although unsure yet, dunno how to verify that they are. Engine is D14Z4 (90hp, 5spd manual) and the VIN is SHHMB8790YUXXXXXX. I was thinking about getting the following parts: rear disks Brembo prime ( i dont want to get xtra, because they will eat my pads way too fast)- https://www.autodoc.bg/brembo/1656472 rear pads FEBI BILSTEIN - https://www.autodoc.bg/febi-bilstein/7106865 front disks Brembo prime again - https://www.autodoc.bg/brembo/7477665 front pads ATE - https://www.autodoc.bg/ate/955434 OR i am planning to get full brembo from another website: front disk: https://www.autopower.bg/спирачен-диск-brembo-honda-civic-6-aerodeck-mbmc-1.4-16v-mb8-09550911-g7255c2-i26275799.html front pads: https://www.autopower.bg/накладки-brembo-p28020-is12750565.html rear disk: https://www.autopower.bg/спирачен-диск-brembo-honda-civic-6-aerodeck-mbmc-1.4-16v-mb8-08710414-g7255c2-i22458830.html rear pads: https://www.autopower.bg/комплект-спирачно-феродо-дискови-спирачки-brembo-p79027-is26283885.html Dont worry on the website "autopower.bg" if it says that they are for akebono, the OEM numbers match the ones from TRW, so the akebono in the "details" is just copy pasted/mistyped. I will be happy for any advice!
dr_broon
Probably best to try and use a honda parts website to get the oem parts numbers to double check fitment. I've had standard brembo disks and pads on a couple of different cars and they've been fine 👍
