ep82
Just wondering what will happen if there is too much oil in the engine?Just checked the dipstick after yesterday's oil change and saw the level is way over the top dot. In fact it's about 1/2 way more on top of the top dot.will this damage the car? shall I drain some?

james
well would you drink water tell it comes out of your ears, nowould you drink tell your full. yesoil will be blown into the air intake manifold, from there it gets into the cylinders (together with the air), where it is burnt - damaging or destroying the catalytic converterhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-INTEGRA-1-8 ... 127wt_1115 OUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Very bad! You'll notice if it's started to do damage by the blue smoke coming out of your exhaust when you hit VTEC!

johngreen537
Yeah mate. I'd drop it all out while you doing it anyway, then add the recommended ammount so you know it's right 3.7-4.2 litres if memory serves me right!

johngreen537
lol, it'd be easier, otherwise, you'd drain a little, check it, a little more, check it, b****r, too much, pour it in, check it again etc etc etc If it's new, just catch it in a catch can and pour it back in I'd buy a new gallon though, and use the last attempt as a flush
