HI guys i am a newbie to civic 5 so any help whatsoever will be much appreciated. i own an MB6 2000 X plate. just recently my fuse for the car stereo and cigarette lighter went, i replaced it and now for some strange reason the abs light and handbrake lights stay on. ive tried a number of things like checking all the fuses and also driving the car but nothing seems to solve it. abs has stopped working. can somebody help me please.

Not come across this problem before Ash. Have you checked the fusebox in the engine bay, located near the battery? There is a fuse in there for accessory too. Does your radio keep the stations in its memory when you turn the ignition off completely, then turn it back on? If not, it will be the fuse in that fusebox? Not sure if this will have anything to do with the abs light, but worth a try. There is also a fuses for the abs too, check these aswell. If they are blown, replace them. if the light still stays on, you might need to disconnect the battery, then reconnect it after 10 mins to try and clear the fault. Anyone else had this happen??

I'd say it's probably jsut a fraeaky coincidence mate. You'll spend ages trying to tie the two together, when they are more than likely seperate faults.

ABD and handbrake lights together.. Hmm, I reckon sensor problem, but the two lights more than likely related, although sperate from the stereo / fag lighter issue ;)

Have a look here, it tells you how to read the ABS fault code.

I'd bet it is a broken / dirty wheel sensor. The handbrake light is also an indicator of the brake pads wearing down...

I also find it hard to believe the abs light and the handbrake light would come on by replacing a fuse , I would check the brake fluid level as the hand brake light doubles up and the the brake fluid level warning . If the fluid is that low it could be effecting the abs as well . Rich.
