As i need a new exhaust i'm gonna do a d.i.y till i can save up a bit of money then get it done proper. So i know how you feel. I done rust on my astra before and it never came back took a while to do. Prep is the key. civicturbo79 Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 The best way to stop any rust is to cut it out . then weld a new plate in body fill over and paint . if you fibre glass it or just fill over it ,it will be back in a month or so .
