B18C SPEC R Powered MB3

If you really want to be different, go for a k20, or turbo'd b20. Now that would make you stand out!

Believe me if I could fund the K20A conversion I would, but the cost, not for the engine, but the mounts  shuddering haha!

Possibly supercharging the B18CR after a year!

if you dont mind the challenge then source a c4 wiring loom and fit that to yours. or find someone who knows how to add the extra vtec wiring to your orginal loom

Thank you, but I don't think I understand what you mean. So do that instead of sourcing a DC2 loom?

Thank you.

the teg loom would fit your engine but then it wont all plug into your interior loom you have in the car now (far as i know it wont anyways)

the mb3 you have are they vtec?

ok you have all the wiring you need then to run a dc2 engine. you have all the plugs as you already have a vtec equipped motor.

you might need to extend some wires to reach the itr sensors but apart from that id say you should be good with what you have.

Apart from the motor and gearbox you need:

The driveshafts, I think the spline pattern on the hubs are the same, but the B series ones are different length and have a half shaft.

Rear engine mount (like £20 from ek9srus.com)

Loom from any vtec b series. As far as I know even the vtec d series loom wont match. But can get from ek9srus or a scrappie for pretty cheap.

ECU

With the side engine mounts you may want to swap them for some polybushed ones as the d series has softer ones than b series, and the b18c from the DC2 will twist the balls out of the mounts at full chat.

HOWEVER!

Have you considered an H22 swap? That would be properly different :P More power and a decent amount more torque.

I have a friend selling the engine/box/loom/ecu/shafts/all ancillaries for peanuts. Its a rare as rocking horse s**t red top as well, something like 212 to 225hp stock (I forget which)

To swap that in all you need extra is the mounts, and I guarantee the cost of all that will be less than the £2300 quoted to you for the B18c.

As an incentive it span the wheels of my mates prelude in 3rd :) Its the kind of torque you want!

my mb6 with a p72 spins the tyres up in third if your agressive lol

h22 is a cracking idea into an mb though...same loom and mount kit as fitting an h22 into an eg but also the same issues with driveshaft angles and sump clearance

mount kit is cheap though for h22 ...looms the only awkward bit really

shafts need to be crx shafts, civic cvs and afaik prelude bb inner cvs, a right mix and match but it works

Oh, didnt realise there was such an issue with the shafts, easily do-able tho.

Why would the prelude engine bay loom not work with the civic. Pretty much everything from the prelude engine bay is replacing what was in the civic?

Im also pretty sure my mate would let the whole lot go for sub £1000. If this does interest you let me know ASAP as the car is sat on his dads driveway with rear end damage (woman in a ford galaxy reversing :S) and he wants it gone!
