ramy Posted April 9, 2011 Share Posted April 9, 2011 hi all my cambelt is due so booked in at local garage on monday with a friend to get it done only thing is we are unsure what needs changing i said its just the belt as the tensioner is steel n water pump bullet proof but he thinks it requires belt/pullys /tensionerim sure i read a topic regarding the same that adam said its just a streight belt swap plaease advise , also how many hours labour should it takethanks in advance ramy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You can change whatever you want bud, its your car, but a dealer will only change the belt, the tensioner wont need changing, and the water pumps are fine on our engines, its only the Accord F18 and F20 engines that sometimes have the waterpump fail after a belt change! steveolkinevel Posted April 10, 2011 Share Posted April 10, 2011 i ALWAYS change the tensioners when doing a cambelt, its mostly the tensioners that fail. no point cutting costs to save 30quid when the worst case is the belt coming off and costing you hundereds of pounds.
