Dexter
back to standard !! why do you want the kit how much is it lowered ??washers on correct camber you know !!maybee http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-MG-ZS-1 ... 439ce6a0c3I've got H&R coils and it's lowered as much as possible without the tyres rubbing the arches. Can't say for sure how many mm but not enough... Possible plan is to roll the arches in the future and fit fat 15" (bbs?) rims with stretched tyres. But concerning the current moment main point is that the camber is messed up, the left arm is worn and needs replacing and always when possible i replace parts with upgrades instead of stock parts. And i'd like to have the option of totally slamming it, just to see what it looks like... And using washers to correct camber sounds a bit sketchy... any experiences doing this? noodels
standard practise on cars where needed , read on here somewhere its what they do at workshop for correction of camber ect,a car is not 100% true corner to corner there is always a degree of tollerance +/- 10mm or so.these adjustments are for fine tuning.when used in this manner they are called shimms.not washers A washer is used not just a regular washer.this is good for adjustment on m chassis .where needed ect front or back. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M6-M8-M10-Pen ... 746b87000cthink it was 20mm drop =1mm shimm of the same princable for +/- adjustment ect this link is for caster adjustmenthttp://www.sjsportscars.co.uk/index.php?mod=
Didjeridave
...but the washer/shim technique can only be used on the rear to adjust camber, the inner mounts of the upper arm mount vertically, not horizontally, so adding shims there would just send things into disarray. Really interested in seeing this question sorted; I'm about to order the hardrace version from the US & sending back isn't going to be easy. My stock upper arm measures 78mm between the mount bolt centres/centre of bushings, hopefully that should be enough info for a supplier to get right. noodels
FAIL !!! bolox thought they vertical should have gone to spec savers!! The rears then http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-MG-ZS-1 ... 439ce6a0c3these would be ok ? better than sending back to USA?
Didjeridave
They may well be. I'm waiting back for a reply from Hardrace on the measurements of the upper front arm at the moment; will post as soon as I get a confirmation. VERY difficult to assure them that our MBs are not EKs! Didjeridave
Dexter: That orange TSS arm looks like an EK arm; they're probably making the same mistake as US places based upon the model year of our Ms. TSS show the correct style arm on their site which, as you mention, they state is for a 92-96 model. It might be worth asking them to check the distance between bolt centres (~78mm) & the bushing width; if these are correct that arm should fit. DeLaSoul
I would also be interested in the outcome to this. I have Buddy Club EG ones on order which I was told was a straight fit. The arms in ones you have pictured are as Didjerdave says are off the EK. So far everything suspension I have bough for mine has been EG/DC2 and it's all gone on with no drama.Quick thought - From the instructions that came with the Energy suspension bush kit - are the bushes in the existing mount fitted the right way around? The Energy ones are handed.
Dexter
I would also be interested in the outcome to this. I have Buddy Club EG ones on order which I was told was a straight fit. The arms in ones you have pictured are as Didjerdave says are off the EK. So far everything suspension I have bough for mine has been EG/DC2 and it's all gone on with no drama. That's the same kit i bought. It was DC2/EG/MB/Del Sol fitment. Didn't fit my car . When you get yours, can you measure the distance marked on this picture: It was 42mm on mine. Perhaps they sent me the wrong one? My mechanic told me it's 8mm too narrow, so i reckon the mc2 kit should be 50mm wide at this point. It might be worth asking them to check the distance between bolt centres (~78mm) & the bushing width; if these are correct that arm should fit.First i thought the 78mm you're talking about is the same area i pointed out in the picture, but then i realised it's not possible because it would make the whole arm absolutely huge. Can you do a similar picture where you show what you mean because you got me lost on this one?Quick thought - From the instructions that came with the Energy suspension bush kit - are the bushes in the existing mount fitted the right way around? The Energy ones are handed. They're Powerflex and the fitting was done by my mechanic, i sure do hope they're the right way round!
