ABS kicking in.... but I am not going tht fast when taking corners... especially on roundabouts... there should be no reason for it to bite back... does this mean a new ABS module or the ABS sensors..??

if ur braking whilst cornering then theres a possiblity ur skidding a little, an ABS sensor is a wheel speed sensor, and if one wheel goes different speed to any others, abs will kick in. i think, or it will at least bring the light on for 20 secs or so until it resets.

Thas the thing the ABS light dosen't come on...Which makes me question again is it the ABS module..or if it is the brake master cylinder.

Sounds like drive shaft abs ring broken causing kick back at low speeds

Pooh brakes sound s like master cylinder iv got one for sale mate 15 quid plus postage

Drive shaft wat... :shock::shock:

At low speeds wen u brake the pedal gets hard and then when the car come to a halt the pedal gets soft and travels further down.. is that the thing with the "drive shaft abs ring" ..

The master cylinder, does that come with the servo as well.. after reading a lot of threads and forums... its kinda pointing to the servo rather than the cylinder...

On the drive shaft there is a castlelated type ring for the abs these corrode and break causing a bigger gap so the abs gets confused and starts kicking back it can also create a hard pedal.

If the servo was faulty it would cause a hard pedal with poor brake effort

If pedal goes to the floor with poor pedal means a leak some where if no leaks visible the on could be master cylinder internal seal s split and allowing fluid to go past so poor pressure =poor pedal on the floor we had this on a corsa last week!!

Seems we've got a terminology mix up :)

When I say 'Servo', I mean, brake booster, as they used to be called! Big BLACK thing (In pic below) with air vaccum which assists with brake force!

When I say Master Cylinder, I mean, Brake fluid master cylinder, as in, the hydraulic cylinder which actually forces brake fluid to the calipers / pistons! (Silver piston attached to resevoir In pic below)

I think we are really talking about the same thing Jonny ;)

This is what I think is caput, has split seal, b****red, 'Brake Servo' :)
