Greg
Well, where to start!!!My MB2 suffered catastrophic engine damage (4th con-rod & big end)... So either an engine swap or new car loomed.Saw an MB6 at a very good price, full Honda service history, great condition, etc etc...So a trip down to Shrewsbury to view it led to me driving it home.... Less than two weeks later, on my way home from a meeting, stationary traffic heading in the opposite direction on a b-road near my house, I took a blind bend at well below the speed limit, only to find an ambulance overtaking the stationary traffic and being completely on my side of the road, the M3 in-front had stopped and was half on the pavement. I then had two choices as I slammed on, thud into the ambulance or the M3, I picked the M3 in-case I needed the ambulance later...That led to one very poorly Mb6 (the picture doesn't really show the full damage, but you get the idea) :My lovely insurance company wrote it off as a Cat-C, I bought it back for the huge sum of £60...Whilst figuring out a plan (more to the point, whilst waiting for a man with a plan) I sprayed my cam cover... This picture shows the extent of the damage to the slam panel :Man with a plan arrived, front end slam panel & everything remotely attached to it needed grinding off & a new front end needed fabricating..Slam panel off :Now, we're nearing the end... New front end is well under way with being fabricated, welder did a bit of work for us last night... We just need to finish the front end temporarily, then drive it up for full welding into place, followed by it's VIC Check, and we're good to go again...Will update with pictures as soon as it stops bloody raining so you can see just where we're up to... beastgtir
#Looks good so far, get some some hammerite on the front panels to tidy it up.
Greg
That was the plan, but the fabricating took longer than expected... Looking like hammerite will be done at a later date... Really need the car by Sunday..
