ryan..
Has anyone elses door trim gone like this?Any ideas on sorting it? Would it be a matter of sanding it, painting it and a bit of laqure to protect it?
knight
mine were like that but worse on every door! common fault on these cars! Honda charge 25 pounds each! i got new ones all round now
james
the cause for this is weather and using the wrong car shampoo to wash the car ( i am not saying you have done it ryan :-> )the wrong shampoo like washing up liquid drys out the rubbers and moldings.what i would do is take them off and spray them, if your flush buy new ones its a small detail so i don't worry ( yet!!! )
ryan..
I used autoglym shampoo, im pretty sure that wouldnt cause any problems but glad to hear its not just me though lolSo, sand them down, spray with matt black paint and cover with laqure? Are they easy to remove? ryan..
sounds like they are really brittle. When it comes to it maybe getting some off a mb6 being broken wont be a bad idea lol
WilkesyMB6
Mine are the same, i have thought about masking up around it and spray it when they are still on the car as they are very easy to break them.
Guest
The very late MB/MC's look to have a revised version of these trims as do some of the later Rover 45's & MG ZS's but this could be as they are later production cars and havnt suffered the same amount of weather damage ? I could be completley wrong but they do seem to have better rubber mouldings on these later cars. Do you have any pictures of yours knight and whats the best way to remove them ?
