weetec
hi peoples, had ordered some PI 30mm lowering springs. tried them on the MGZS shocks.....definetly a no-no....way too long and make the car jack-a*s high....the problem not using suited springs is not bottoming out...rather you risk forcing the rod out of the damper on full stretch ie on a bad pot holeheres a pic for comparison.these were the rear springs
WilkesyMB6
So what springs we they originally for then?
weetec
the original springs were the thick guaged mgzs springs..... i bought the eibach xpower spring for the damper....the red PI springs are for the MB dampers.... also the inner collar on the top mounts are shorter by around 6mm on the mgzs compared to the MB top mounts. thats the sleeve going through the top mount on the rear with 2 rubber bushings. i didnt bother checking the front.when i installed the PI spring on the mg damper it was bending the spring against the damper dustcover under load.
