ryan..
I've been searching on here and the net and im yet to find any useful info about axel stand placement on the MB Civics. I've always been under the impression you use parts of the chassis for it but a thread I found shows it using the jacking points Anyone have a definite answer of where to put them? steveolkinevel
if your jacking the front up use the jack on the very front jack point in the center of the bumper then put your axle stands on the side jacking points, if jacking the back use the rear tow eye for the jack and put stands on the side jacking points. ryan..
so i'd need to buy axel stands with a V shaped plat form rather than normal ones then?

Didjeridave
I've used 'normal' flat/lipped stands with mine, the chassis bars are good for that, or if you're not removing the inner arms, the inner arm mounting. There are loads of places really & the more the better. I always use a block of softwood between jacks/stands too, prevents wrecking the jack points/chassis. steveolkinevel
so i'd need to buy axel stands with a V shaped plat form rather than normal ones then? You can do but it wouldnt make a differece aslong as your stand is central to the jacking point,
ryan..
ive just some Helfrauds Advanced 3 tonne stands (3 tonne as they didnt have the 2 tonne ones and came to the same price with my mates trade card). They have a notch at the bottom for the sill points but will also fit most other places too http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255207

ryan..
tbh that thread does not help at all. There is no key telling you what each part is on the bottom pic and the description changes its mind of what to call stuff. Doesnt make much sense tbh
