james Posted November 26, 2012 Author Share Posted November 26, 2012 well i have finally detailed my car i got the rest of my detailing products together i started with a strong wash with dish soapthen hit the lower half with bilthamber clay (using the suds as a lube)next up was iorn xeven the yeard bleed and that is how she stood after that in the garage being dryed with le cheap a*s bath towel this part was nerv recking as i had no experience with a machine polisher but i finally built up the courageand for some 50/50'scraptastic phone after the first stage of polishing she looked like thisand after the final stage and with one coat of wax (i gave it two coats with 4/5 in between)ill get better pix soon with a pro camera im shocked at how amazingly smooth the paint came out, its like a new car Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Brilliant stuff though, I did mine last month for the first time ever, can't believe how smooth the paintwork is now. craptastic phone Even though the pic is not the sort of quality you see on DW, you can clearly see the difference, top work mate. S4DAM Posted November 26, 2012 Share Posted November 26, 2012 great thread, just read through the seven pages with big smile at work.Clay bar works a treat will never waste my energy wax n polishing without clay barring ever again.Its good to appreciate the car for what it is rather than diving straight in for the mods, amazing how much time/effort can be put in restoring it to its' former glory.My hungarian housemate has got one of these and he swears by it. Say its too bouncy but i'd say he's just a sh1tty driver.
