Royal Purple - advice

Yello'

When I was getting the sports cat, I was having a chinwag with the guy, and I mentioned the gearbox work I was getting done. The fella reckons that Royal Purple is the best gearbox oil and totally transforms a gearbox, even just on an oil change.

Does anyone have any experience of it?

I've seen some good stuff on the webs but wondered if anyone here had used it / know of it.

Cheers :)

There are a lot of threads on other forums about how good/bad Royal purple and other MTF's are. TBH I'm non the wiser from scanning through them. I have used Castrol in my last Honda's box which seemed ok. I have literally just put Motul in mine last weekend and it seems to have solved a few problems and the shifts are noticeably slicker (as they should be new oil after less than a week).

i swear by honda MTF. 8-)

Yep but it's just MTF. Brighton Honda wouldn't sell me any unless I bought 50 litres of it  . I'm pretty sure there's not a shed in Japan with some guy in it hand mixing oil to Honda's exacting specifications and posting it to needy Honda fans the world over. More likely distribution in each country source MTF from what is commercially available and has the right cleaners etc in it.
