NIKH25
You might be able to get away with treating that as it hasn't got too bad…yet.
fyfie5
nice, anyone know what grit of sandpaper would be best for sanding it down to a smooth finish?
Shadz-VTIs
that looks like its going to spread.. and i can see why its happend.. them rubber arch liner are the main cause of rust on the rear arches... newer cars dont have them...
fyfie5
think i should rip them off then? i think its caused because there is no plastic trim on the inside of that arch aswell as on the otherside its fine!
Shadz-VTIs
it because all sorts of dirt and grime get stuck between the rubber and arch over time causing it to rust... you better off taking them ... get a wire brush scrub the behind the lip give it a good clean.. and then underseal it .. thats what i did to mine when i first got it and roll the arches if you can to help protect the arches more as dirt and mud wont sit on the arch lip!! Shadz-VTIs
the rear are already undersealed thats why they dont have plastic trims

fyfie5
thanks for the advice! they are getting taken off first thing tomorrow! cleaned and i will underseal asap.
Shadz-VTIs
no problem mate...hope you sort i cant stand rust myself...fresh clean underseal should stop it from spreading...have a look underneath the arch once you cleaned it.. if you see no rust you might get away with just a sand down and spray job...
