onejdmcivic1984
Im in the process of removing the fake wood in my MB3 and was wondering if it can be done via trim removal tool/screwdriver.I sanded down the easiest to remove part which is the gearknob surround and primered it. Im going to use Halfords Silver as the colour and wondering how many coats of lacquer are required to not only protect paint but also to make it smooth to the touch and easily wipable when it gets dusty? NIKH25
It's only held in with clips so you can just pull it out, go carefully though, might need a screwdriver to get it started. With lacquer, I'd say the more the better.
Grant
As Nick said, plenty of lacquer 2-3 even 4 coats if your feeling really generous. But it's all about the prep. Rub down well and the smooth the primer and your get a lovely finish.
