rear mounted turbo....show me at least 1 example of how this would actually work and i might not beleive your talking pure arse mate

nice car all the same, i liked the direction you were going till you started talking about rear mounted turbos

. by the time you got the air to the inlet you would have no boost pressure...its the reason behind why intercoolers dont run stupidly long pipework

Yes yes!

D15 is clearly for the win! I was just having a look thru your project thread actually DAVEMB2, very nice indeed.

We should start a rebellion against the MB6's!

can i join your rebellion as well....????? lol

Part of the reason I want to do a rear mount turbo is because Im currently doing a research project into new ways of cooling boost charge to help stop detonation and increase efficiency etc etc etc.

Having the turbo at the back means it runs a shed load cooler and requires no intercooler. ALSO. The pressure drop between the turbo and the manifold should not be much more than the drop across an intercooler, given the volume of air it takes to fill an intercooler, and the small diameter of the charge piping used in a rear mount set up.

As I said, Im hoping to use a T25, capable of compressing to 15psi, more than enough for my meagre 200hp goal, so a 2-3 psi pressure drop is perfectly acceptable.

Examples of proven rear mount turbos;

And yes! Join the rebellion, a break away forum? :s

Ok, done a few little bits.

Had to fit a new short shifter after my aluminium one snapped :S Not sure what make it was as a friend gave it to me, but the new steel one I bought from eBay seller '800bhp' is decent enough, smooth bearing but not quite short enough for my liking, still shorter than stock though!

While I had my car up on the ramp at college I fiddled around with the front damper pinch bolts. The front left had slipped by about 10mm so had to raise that back up, but also raised the right by about 5mm. They are all nice and even now and much less scrubbing :)

Still nice and low, but much more reasonable. Also have the dream team in the background :P

Finally fitted the ITR wing I bough off 'Blames Vti' months ago, absolutely loving it!

And spent over an hour rubbing my exhaust down by hand with sandpaper, all the way to 1200 grit to make it shiny again

Hope you all like!

Cheers for the comments guys :) Top marks have to go to Blames though, I got the spoiler from him with the carbon lip already on which I think is a nice touch. Not quite as easy to install as he led me to believe though :P
