Hi guys ive got a question :D

Ermm my civic mb4 just reached 75k miles :D so im thinking its time for service? Though ive bren changing oil filters, air filters, engine oil, spark plugs every 3000-4000 miles..but ive been searching different forums and found thats theres a thing called timing belt which needs to be replaced at 60-75k miles ?

If any one can suggest me if its time i buy the new timing belt?

2nd question i feel lot of vibration when i have my hand on gear knob is it normal? Like i can feel the engine running ermm like the mechanical work goin inside the engine when i drive hope u understand what i mean :D so is it normal?

If it hasn't been done in the past then yes this would be about the right time to have the cam belt (aka timing belt) changed! :)

I would say some vibration is normal! After all, the gearbox's moving parts are attached to the engines moving parts.

^^^ like said, if you don't know when the cambelt was changed last/this is its first one, get it done for peace of mind. Water pump and pulley tensioner changed at the same time.

Is this a job you plan for yourself?,,,its very daunting the first time you do one.

I would change the gearbox oil as well at this point, probably wont make any difference to the vibration, thats normal.

Thnx alot or the info the guys ill get it done by coming thursday as im working sun-wednesday this week and ye i dnt think its been done in the past so its time..no ill get it done by the mechanic who always services my car..

One question do i have to buy all this by myself feom ebay or some shop? Or the mechanic will sort it out and i can just pay him there in the garage ?

One more question :D does buying good spark plugs make any difference in performance? I know they for ignition stuff but ive been seeing people tkin about dens/bosch/NGK spark plugs lately..though i never had problem with the car ignition or start up it always start first time :D very quickly :D

John banks honda, trader on here do a good deal on cambelt kits, you might want to try a blueprint water pump though if you're changing that, it's non serviceable and oem honda is very expensive. Your mechanic should be able to source all the parts though if needs be.

Plugs should be changed every two years and I'd recommend sticking with standard ngks.

I would shop around for prices or ask your mechanic where to go, they get trade price but some things need to be ordered in.

Plugs dont make that big of difference, the right ones need to be bought though, these have different temperature ratings and have difference size spark gaps.

Some makes are better quality (consistent gaps) than others, i stick to denso's or NGK's, i really dislike bosch just because they made "super 4's" which are Kack!
