Guest martin
So I'm on a flat motorway doing a steady 70mph, engine is at 3,000 rpm and I'm holding the accelerator pedal in exact same position. All of a sudden car decides to start going faster. Could be VTEC but from what I've read the VTEC doesn't kick in until 4200 rpm on the D15z8. Any ideas? Guest martin
I don't notice it holding revs when at traffic lights but I'll squirt some WD40 down the throttle cable to see if that helps and get one thing eliminated. Cheers for rapid reply

Roj
Mine does it too. It's when 16v mode takes over from 12v/econo mode.

Krzys
I used to notice the same thing with my brothers old 1.5 Civic, it was to do with the fancy economy thing it did, used to nearly get me into trouble as I'd be happily doing 30 then suddenly it speeds up
