Just a quickie, I finished wiring the door speakers in and it's so much better! A lot clearer and central to the hearing. Also I got this fob but can't get it to pair, tried the ignition and button trick, nothing. Tried lockig car pressing, unlocking the rapidly pressing still nothing... I'm expecting someone to say it's the wrong type of fob... Any help? This is it

They have to be coded by Honda they don't auto sync, they are a waste of time the factory Central locking on these cars is Valeo Rover cr*p, I ripped mine out on all three of my Honda's and fitted after market Central locking Systems which cost about £20 from maplins or ebay and take about two hours to fit, hey presto you have two shiny new fobs.

Obviously the OEM Fobs are all coded to the car they came with otherwise any fob once reset would open any car imagine that if you were standing in the car park trying to find you motor, be pretty funny.

This is all you need, they work a thousand times better than the OEM ones and looks nice and clean.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Remote-Central-Door-Lock-Kit-Locking-Keyless-Entry-System-Remote-Control-UK-/301101202142?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item461b07bade

the Central locking control Box is to the rear of the Ash tray of the centre console, easily accessable all the central door locking solenoids terminate into the, you have to figure out which wires open and close the circuit and which is 12v and ground but you have only five to choose from anyway so it doesn't take long.

forget the standard setup mate the fobs last 5 mins and it only works when you stand next to it anyway, rover bobbins.

all these fobs actually do is open and close they don't control and alarm or immobiliser as that's the key's job with the transponders in them, so really its pretty useless, other then making life a little easier of course.

What Jimbob said. Tried it myself, think I got 5 of these fobs from scrappy and you just cannot get the bloody things to work.

And when they do work, you might aswell use the car lock itself seeing as you're next to it anyway

Indeed, especially when a complete new system is a £10 I would change it every couple of years for that price its only a remote switching box nothing special, old tech now tbf.

some of the most expensive alarms still use basic technology, I have a meta 3.5hp alarm fitting myself and its great had them on all my cars and they don't try and be anything they not fairly priced not like toad and cobra which are ridiculous and riddled with issues.

try and sort one of them when they go wrong I have ripped loads out and the "professional installations" have always been dog rough when you go down to it bloody shocking, I used to fit Car Alarms and High end audio into cars when I was 17-21 as a job worked for car audio in Nottingham and let me tell you I seen some sights, Amps wired in with 3 core flexi and 3 core ring main cable on a daily basis ouch.

Luckily I don't seem to have had any problems with car audio centre's work in the past. but these days I just fit myself and save the money!

Also never had a problem with the Toad alarm I had on the EK, Ai606 it was, made insurance cheaper which was nice.

Agreed they are great when they are working but when you have problems they are a nightmare, not saying they are bad alarms but not easy to problem solve, with all the wires being unmarked and black can spin you out.

Probably put it down more to the person who installed it. Lack of labelling wouldn't help!

They do go wrong a lot, and they not allowed to be labled as they are Thatcham cat 1's they have little tags on for the install then you remove them all once done and sign the certificate that gets your insurance discounted, that way they are "tamper Proof" and slide into the OEM loom.

they are a pain trust me, but when they working they do a good job.
