So since the sun was out, I decided to give the old girl one last wash and coating of the hybrid wax before going to bed for the winter, and decided to give under the shuttle panel at the bottom of the windscreen a check / clean out to make sure it wasn't collecting leaves.
Thought it seemed okay, so gave it a bit of a clean anyway to get rid of some slime.
But then found some bloody rust on the passenger side corner
The top skin is peeling off, and there's bare metal underneath, which has thankfully just got some surface rust... Feels like I've caught this just in the nick of time... But feel a bit sick. Didn't take any more pics after cleaning it up a bit more, but need to get it treated and sorted ASAP.

Yeah, I've had that (on two decks now...) tends to be the seam sealer on the roof panel underneath the trim where the roof bars are.
Hope you get it sorted

Looks good mate. The sports cat made quite a difference when I fitted mine.
Starlight headliner looks good.

Ah man, that is a bummer. Hopefully though what you've done has stopped it getting any worse. Do you think the tank will need to come out?

Sunday car wash day as I've got a couple of hours to myself.
Second time using this stuff..
Really good.. Was a bit of a chew putting the base coat on last time, but once that's on, you use it after rinsing and then just buff off. It must be nearly two months since I put the base coat on, but the water was still running off in sheets when I was rinsing the shampoo off.
Other products used today are..

I think that grant had done the usdm indicator /running light thing, and when the car was in getting all the work done I asked them to swap my old lighting loom of Tubs. Think they just wired them up the right way around though as there's loads of insulation tape around the wires to the headlights (which tbh is why I gave them a wiggle..)
Did spend all evening the night before trying to understand wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual and the Honda workshop manual.

Had a properly weird thing happening one night this week. When I turned my headlights on from sidelights, the left height adjustment motor moved a bit. With the headlights on, if I turned the left indicator on, it ran slowly, dimmed the left headlight, and set the front and rear windscreen wipers tuning constantly... The only way to them turn them off was to turn the headlights off again.
Fiddled with the wiring around the passenger side lights and it got rid of it, so there's obviously something dodgy in that area with current going to earth or something.

Weirdly was just watching Ed China's latest youtube video (workshop diaries) where he sent a fiesta abs unit to be remanufactured.
Hope you get to the bottom of it mate.

Aw man, thought you'd sussed it.
Could it be a fault with the unit then?

Ah, by mid wing I thought you meant something halfway down the rear screen.

Looks flipping good that mate.
Hope that you're into something with the abs.. That's be good to get that sorted!

Do you mean on the rear screen? Not sure I've seen one fitted either.
You'd have to check measurements etc, but can't see why you couldn't.
If anyone has looked into it, @Craigblight86 would be the man - any clues Craig?

Hi everyone sorry been busy with work still haven't been able to get pictures.
Also found out some really cool information that would have made my life a lot easier.
The USDM Honda accord 5th Gen seat base frames are a direct fit to the mb models and company called Planted Technology manufacture these frames.
So really you could get these subframes and bolt any seat into it with or without rails
Nice bit of info that mate

£4.52 ex VAT from honda

60p ex VAT for rover..
Quite a difference if you're buying the 10 that honda has as the default number for replacing them all!

Yeah, plastic..
I'll have a spy, but it fell from right where the caliper was. Weird.

Really nice colour is that. Got it sorted.

Been a while since any updates, but not much to report really.. Mostly had a summer of enjoying the deck (apart from a few weeks touring Scotland in the accord).
Yesterday I noticed that one of my rear calipers had started sticking a bit, so had a bit of an investigate.
The piston looks immaculate and wound in and out easily, slider pins also look fine.. Regreased them as they seemed a bit gritty, but look spot on. Handbrake doesn't seem to be sticky, and moves the piston in and out okay. The pads had welded themselves to the caliper a bit, and one of them needed some filling in the edges to remove some rust build up and let them move freely in the shim thing, but other than that, couldn't see anything wrong.
Still is binding a bit, not as bad, but not properly free... Anyone got any ideas?
When I had her jacked up I had a spy underneath, and apart from being a bit dirty, still looks nice underneath.
Also, this fell down when I was persuading the caliper off.. No idea where it came from, can't see one on the other side, and can't see where it would go or what it would do?
It looks like it slides in a slot, and a bolt or something goes through it at right angles
