MB2 K-Swap Civic project - from base spec to race spec
dr_broon replied to btjtaylor's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
That evaporust looks like pretty good stuff when I saw Edd China use it on youtube. Would eg bolts be a better match? The MB suspension stuff tends to be eg /dc2 related rather than ek. -

The grille looks cool, nice one. Shame that there was the hassle with the steering rack though, at least there was a fix for it, but definitely good to mention it. At least you had the old pipes intact too do the swap -
There might be a how to guide on the forum somewhere, but failing that, have a spy at the wiring diagrams in the workshop manual in the downloads section https://civic5.com/forum/files/

Urgent Headlight Question (headlights needed)
dr_broon replied to TaikoHax's question in SOS! Help!!
I don't think anyone has ever found an alternative head light unit - just don't think there has ever been a big enough market for anyone to make them. From this page, it looks like the Honda Part number for the left hand drive model is 33101-ST3-G11 https://www.parts-honda.uk/honda-cars/CIVIC-AERODECK/1999/VTI/ELECTRICAL-EQUIPMENTS-EXHAUST-HEATER/HEADLIGHT/17S1E01/B__0800/3/8455 There's a few on ebay at the mo with that part number, but all in Spain, Italy, Germany etc, so not much use for your trip this week. Maybe a headlight polishing kit is going to be your best bet for now. -
Urgent Headlight Question (headlights needed)
dr_broon replied to TaikoHax's question in SOS! Help!!
Hi. To be honest, I'd be surprised if you could even find new right hand drive headlights in the UK, never mind LHD ones. It would have to be second hand I'm afraid, and the chance of getting left hand drive ones in the UK must be really small. What's the problem with your old ones? The lights in these cars are terrible at the best of times, the best bet is to get the best bulbs you can, folk on here in the past have either went for osram night breakers, or Philips extreme vision - I've used both but prefer the Philips ones. Other thing could be to clean up the plastic with one of the various products to get rid of the cloudy appearance. -

Nice one. Pirates black is lush, but be ready for feeling like your car is never clean 😂 even the day after a wash it's not clean anymore!

Have you tried deleting cookies etc Jake?
-
Wowzers! That'll be a beast then!

Know what you mean about the weather. In theory winter's the perfect time to get sone jobs done cos the deck is off the road, but got zero motivation to do anything in the cold / wet / dark. @Dave any idea why Jake can't post pics?

Glad you're happy with the exhaust - it does look pretty discrete. I liked the difference my sports cat made, to feel and tone. -
It's mad how obsessed with salt we are here and how much difference it makes. It's going to be off road for the winter (after Christmas tree duties at the weekend) but wanted to give it a treatment.

Still like that blue mate
-
That sucks mate, at least it didn't cause an accident. Hopefully it's an easy fix.. Not what you want though.

Turns out that it was losing it from both drive shaft seals and shifter linkage seal. Seems groovy now with them replaced and another mtf top up.

Cheers man, I've really fell for it. Crawled around underneath at the weekend squirting lanoguard in all it's crevices. Just lifted it right up on the bags and it was higher than I can normally jack the deck up 😂 Took a couple of (not very good) before pics after a bit pressure wash the day before. Generally clean enough, but glad I've got it treated now as there's a few places where there's some slight signs of rust starting.

Welcome back mate, good to see you back in a civic - looks up to your usual minter standard 😎
