Facom Tools is it just me or are the actually dog turd?
steveolkinevel replied to a topic in Engine & Chassis
ive got a couple of facom 1/4 drive ratchets and ive had no bother with them but there only used for light stuff, my 3/8s stuf is either snap on, britool or halfords professional, halfords pro or advance that its called now is realy good stuff, infact its mad in the same factory as snapon they just have a differnt stamping machine, life time garantee on there stuff too. never had any bother with them. -
no im a storeman on a nuclear power plant, i dont have to suit up that much now a days just if there short on men that are trained to go into the active areas, there not nice places to work, some areas were only allowed to work for 10mins then we have to get out, then thats us for the day because we have reached out dose limit.

has any one changed their heater matrix before? if so how big of a job was it? is it a full dash out job? thanks in advance.
-
I wouldnt bother if there just standard dont know if they would be better or not, some one will know better than me
-
I take it they are after market ones of the em1? If so then yes they will be better, but not perfect as the spring rates will obviously be different.
-
X2 as said. Just get a slack hand full of washers and put the shocks on and you will see instantly where the washers need to go.

Guess whos back...Back again.... Tyre talk advice please!
steveolkinevel replied to a topic in Chassis
Id just double check the price dude as i was in talking to scott from camskill before xmas and he said he had to put the price up of the toyos because he buys them in bulk from japan and he had an order of 25000 tyres stuck out there since the tsunami wrecked every thing, they havnt gone up much bout 8-10 quid i think, unless hes got sorted since then i dont know. -
Google 4-2-2-1 tri y header and you will see the difference

milage/age/service history means nothing if you intend on keeping the car for a long time and know what you are looking for in regards to the cars health, (obviously it is apealing to buyers) if every thing checks out good and you dont plan on selling it whats the problem? i bought my mb6 on a V plate with 111k on the clock with 2 stamps in the history! i knew i would be keeping the car for a while and the car was right, no knocking engine was sweet and te oil was clear/gold and the bloke haddent serviced it in 12months, as soon as i got it i gave it a full service and cambelt and she hasnt missed a beat. X2 on the castrol from asda you cant beat that price any where.

ive just fitted a short shifter today and my old shifter used to have a fair amount of movement on it to. this was down to the fork part of the selector arm that bolts to the bottom of the shifter being opened up with use so it had side to side movement. big pair of pliers/gripz and just bend it back straight/snug but not to tight. have a look underneith and you should see what i mean. i dont think those bushes will wake a difference to be honest (could be wrong but i realy doubt it.)

Car Cleaning/Polishing/Waxing Chit Chat
steveolkinevel replied to james's topic in Body/Electrics/Interior
Honestly i carnt stress enough how wrong you are on the bird crap, this pic is from the bonnet and was not there before polishing. The bonnet had quite alot of tiny stone chips all over it so he picked an area and and started polishing, after a wash. After saying look how well thats come up i said theres a mark there and he assured me it was polish, so i sat down for a fag and left im to it. Later i spy the marks on the roof and he again says its polish so he went back to it. The next day i went to top my washers up and thought what the f*** is that. And this is where were at now. All the marks are the same all 16 of them bonnet roof wing boot top of the drives side rear quarter pannel. Just seems very strange how ive polished it by hand before and nothing. Buffing machine and a rookie, well this is what you get. -

I have washed the car countless times and as stated in above posts it Was caused by the polisher and i will garentee that it isnt bird crap. Those little white lines your refering to as bird lime is actually the metal the paint is on! If i wanted to i could pick the bits of paint out with a pair of tweezers. James hit the nail on the head with the rotary machine ive been told exactly the same today. -

O yes! Some arw worse than others, but you can deffo feel you nail catch slightly on some. Another bit On the car the paint cracked like photo above, then fell out so its down to the metal! So i knew that bit would need a respray but wasnt sure about the others. -

Well the above pics are proof of that. So what can be done to sort it? Will it have to be resprayed? -

I think ive maybe got confused it wasnt like a 9 inch grinder it was the one with handles above the buffer. If that makes any sence! Lol. I thought that was a old rumor that the paint on hondas was thin? -
