yeah mate was wondering why it still ran OK and vtec was only coming in at 5k, thought it might have been due to the iabs

Lol am guessing what ever the p28 from is just make mime run on that map like a b16 or something anyways standard ones back in mates gona take socket off and re-solider it

put the socketed ecu back in as last time I did it with wire from J1 removed I never drove it so thot ad try today and drive with it out, it runs fine and vtec comes in same as when mapped should it work fine with J1 wire removed??

Anyway a just took of the wire on J1 and put ecu back on and car starts and runs fine with no ecu light does this mean the chip has failed? According to the guy at triple h he's never had a chip fail on him

Yeah probably worth a go yeah I looked and saw J1 there think it's just above the chip, but would the p28 run without it as it's not for the mb6 I think

s**t happens man no big deal, a like my duel vtec lol na if a get bored with standard map I'll just get another socketed ecu from somewhere, any idea how much they go for

Phoned and he says my ecu is dead as he's never had a chip fail, said to buy another socketed ecu and put chip in and it should run fine

is it likely to be chip that's goosed then when I phoned triple h yesterday he said they don't keep the maps for p28 ecu saved to people car regs hmmmmmmm

I noticed a slight burning smell sometimes if driving hard but thot it might just be something on exhaust

The ecu doesn't look bad or dirty wet burnt ect

Well the chip or ecu must be f**ked cause I put standard one in and it ran fine with it

Well mechanic couldn't sort it so I'll take chip out soon clean it and try again failing that I'll have to put standard ecu back on!

Just phoned triple h they said it does sound like it's not reading chip and to open up ecu and take chip out give it a clean then try it

Sound mate yeah am sure it'll be in that big pile of paper lol everything else is when did it get mapped? And I'll wait and see if it's that 1st my luck tho it'll be the worst lol

Well that's s**t then cause that's what my lights doing a take it that means I'll need to fork out on another remap then or ecu chip?

Just backfires more when it hit the limiter hoping it's not ecu but will find out tomorrow

Yeah ano mate just one of these things that happen with motors lol just hope it's an easy fix will report back tomorrow, when in neutral and rev it it sounds like launch control with explosions
