When I looked at getting one, it was actually hardly any difference between getting a starter tool set than just a tool chest!
-
Yeah exactly. Bought a beginners took chest years ago and have slowly been building it up ever since.
-
My opinion on tools has always been I'm not a mechanic, I do t use them daily, just for tinkering and therefore do not need the best.
-
Well she seems to be running alright, took a detour to work this morning. Definitely nothing wrong. Just need to check. Maybe convince sir Tom to bring his to japfest!?!

Ok, I had a hard on before. I've spunked in my pants now. Looks stunning mate, really does. What an awesome EG

There was a how to somewhere for yellow lenses. Just a sheet of acrylic cut to size. Looked like it worked well -
I'm very sensitive about my reading abilities. Or rather lack of haha. As Nick said, too busy skimming and thinking ahead to a witty response lol

Good old wiki. I am now cued up on ticking lights. Feel like I've been plugged into a training program in the matrix haha. So are the cheapo £12 ones from eBay likely to do the job??
-
What are these magical timing lights??
-
They don't tend to be made of good quality mate and won't last too long. You get what you pay for with anything
-
Can't just be for show now can it
-
Cannot wait I'm sure, as it's you, whatever the choice is they're going to be epic!!

MB2 TRINITY D. K26. 23/11/14 BRAND NEW MINI MOD ????????
Grant replied to DAVEMB2's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Suck up all you need. So long as the end result is a road trip to this car! -
So what are we waiting for??? Have you made your mind up and just keeping us in suspense!?!?
-
Cheers Jake. You are good with words, that was very well explained. Is a little clearer now and I read up on wiki before I shot off from work. There is an optimum advance I think isn't there. So that the spark is just before TDC and the ratio ignites just after TDC. Quite simple actually. The principle anyway. The testing on the other hand. Well I don't have those sorts of tools. May speak to my friend at performance Autoworks just to give it a once over.

X2 mine used to pull my EK
-
Who's the tallest of them all?? Oh wait, no, that's not me
-
Ok ... So I had a peculiar rattling coming from my dizzy, so changed it over for the one off my EK .. Didnt solve it, but while it was in the shop having the tracking/exhaust done, was told it wasnt much of an issue.. (only happends when warming up, is fine after) Thats not the point though ... So I managed to dig out my old honda manuals that I got 5 years ago! Not sure if they are the same as what you can download on here, wont seem to let me do it to compare?? .. Anyway, been having a flick through them, flicked passed the dizzy page, and on the top bolt, apparently you can advance or retard your ignition?!?!?!!?! WTF? i didnt know that! Im now worrying i've done it without realising! What are the pro's/cons do's and donts when it comes to this? In fact, if anyone knows, whats the purpose of advancing or retarding the ignition?? Thanks !

I had a galaxy ghia Tdi 130 for a few years mate, served us well.
-
I think without looking at the votes I know what the outcome is Jake!! Does he do it in a comedy style then?
-
No, I always thought it was jim'll fix it
-
Or he could've made it 400 or 500ml cans to make it easier for us that struggle to read
-
I was pretty impressed too. Never thought I was particularly arty
-
Yeah I was using a mixture of paint and photo bucket
