  2. Aerodeck VTi abs not working. When breaking hard, instead of applying abs the pedal suddenly goes in deeper and locks the brakes. No abs light, no fault codes. No fluid leaks in the system. I did get the brake lines replaced last spring, so might have something to do with the issue. I've checked the lines and made sure everything has been done properly and every line goes where they are supposed to. Any idea what might cause the abs system to malfunction, without turning on the abs light?

I put it into Honda to have the proper Honda front fog lights fitted, the Honda sunroof wind deflector and got an MP3 stereo too. Just wanting to change the wheels now. Love my aero to bits

    MeisterR coilovers

    Testing the water! I'm going to be putting DD's OEM suspension back on soon so wondering if anyones interested in a set of MeisterR Zeta S (think they're S, will need to check) for the civic mb/mc. They haven't done many miles tbh as DD spent most of the time just doing meets/shows but is now in daily use hence reverting back to oem. Will get pictures once i get them off the car. Still have the original box they came in and the C spanners for adjusting them. Looking for £350 (these were over £600 new and that was at a sale/group buy price) Let me know if you're interested folks

DC2 alloys need spacers to fit over 282 calipers *Springs and shock absorbers....Same as dc2/eg/ek/ej/400/45/zs. DC2 coilovers will need the Integra LCA. Matched springs and shocks are specific to the weight of the model so Aerodeck are different as are other civics or Integras. *Front upper wishbone....Same as dc2/eg/400/45/zs.   7. Competition time again on Civic5...does it ever stop!! This time it's the return of our Photo competition. We want to see your photos of your civics where there is a reflection of the car in the photo. Could be parked over a big puddle so car's reflected in the water, or refflected from a shop/showroom window or a mirror. Or the reflection of your civic on another car. You get the idea Only criteria is your Civic must be in the pic along with the reflection. Competition is free to enter and the prize on offer is our very last Official Civic5 mug!     Hi all, Figured as every query I've typed in to google has brought me to this site that I might as well sign up and try contribute something at least! Picked up a VTi-S Aerodeck about a fortnight ago as a new daily and haven't stopped grinning since. Needs a tiny bit of tidying here and there, but it's all largely cosmetic - one of the former owners loved a carwash by the look of the swirls in the paint, the rear door cards are wilting a touch, minor cig burn in the passenger seat, slight nik in the rear bumper, oh and a child appears to have drawn (in permanent ink) on the b-pillar, roof liner and c-pillar but other than those niggles it's all straight enough. Sub 100k (just...), FSH, comprehensive folder of receipts, clean history and to top it off a bit of a bargain price. Think from my rough workings, it's averaging 31mpg - which is about 10mpg better than the last estate I ran, so that's another bonus too! The last owner of this was an MOT tester for Honda, so mechanically it feels tighter than newer cars I've driven as he put a lot of time, parts and love in to it! Haven't got round to doing much other than putting fuel in it and commuting so far, but I have restored the headlights (small, relatively cheap fix at least!) and I have created a healthy excel spreadsheet to work through of both jobs and parts I want for it. Car's largely standard, save for a rather mute aftermarket cat back exhaust and some generic ebay adjustable coil spring kit. Rides, rather surprisingly, exceptionally well on them. Genuinely staggered by how comfy it is...was half expecting to have binned them already, but apart from the concrete sections of the M25 its soaking up most surfaces very well. That said, combined with the Nankang tyres, I haven't dared wind it on at any point save for a straight line, but the sound gets me every time. Mid-90s BTCC soundtrack in an estate, what's not to love? But anyway, some pics: And a quick one of what was originally my daily, but it was another car I dropped lucky on and is far too mint to be using every day - hence the need for another. That, and it's getting increasingly hard to shoe-horn a growing Labradoodle in the back of one of these; Will try update this as I add/ do stuff to the Civic, but I need to move some cars on first before starting to spend more on this...otherwise I think the other half will, perhaps rightly, murder me!     B18C4 running rich

    Sooo... it's a third year in a row failing mot due to high emissions. This time it's running quite rich, lambda shows 0.6. Co% and HC about 10 tenfold past the limits. And can't seem to find the source. Here's my investigation so far: - no vacuum leaks - compression test ok - no visible leaks in exhaust system - plugs in need of change but nothing critical about their condition - plug wires ok - timing ok - ecu reseted - worn cap + rotor, a little bit of play in dizzy axle + dizzy a bit noisy = gonna replace distributor. But not in such a bad condition that would explain the richness. - coolant reservoir was empty, only a bit of dark brown muck on the bottom. At first thought it was oil, but when i rinsed it turned out was (atleast mostly) dirt etc. Discovered a small crack on the reservoir lid, might be a cause. Besides the reservoir no other clues pointing to a possibly leaking head gasket. Any ideas what to look for? One suggestion was that a faulty heat sensor etc. could be feeding the ecu wrong info and messing up the mix? Valve stem leak also one possible cause. In addition to the dizzy i'm planning on replacing the ecu with a p28 with Hondata to get better data about what's happening. And ofcourse once it's fixed, then it's tuning time .
  10. What lighting options out there are best, obviously to go in my projectors... currently got 6000 HID bulbs which the light output is good but light distance isn’t great... just wondered what routes others have gone down? And am I likely to get them any better or not?

    Fuel pump strainer.

    Please can anyone help me I need a fuel pump strainer really having issues. No one wants to sell me a pump because they have to drop the tank. Most breakers are rude as hell tbh. All I need is this flipping strainer off the pump. Anyone breaking a car or has one handy? And please don't tag 10000 rpm. Rude.

Sounds deep and sporty Accord gear knob like vtis one but without the writing on it Cheap induction kit Last serviced 27/06/19 Rear trailing arm bushes done Both driveshafts replaced with brand new ones from j&r 4 wheel alignment done recently Pulls well no smoke in or out of vtec BAD Points: There is oil leak in engine bay. I have been told it's probably the cam cap seal leaking. I have got another one that will come with the car along with a rocker cover seal Abs light keeps coming on and off Sometimes it's hard to change gear specially if you rev it high but on other occasions smooth gear change. I looked into it and found out it could be slave cylinder needs replacing. I have got new one which will come with the car. Sometimes I feel the car takes longer to warm up in winter then it should but I never had any issues with fluctuating temperature though. I still got a thermostat from japserviceparts that will also come with the car Body work is good. No rust on arches but it has quite a few scratches that bother me so machine polish is required. No dents. Some lacquer peel on the front bumper There is a leak on the driver's side top pillar Driver's side window goes up and down properly but when it reaches the top it keeps trying to go up. Minor problems nothing major but I am just being as honest as possible in description. Follow on instagram @honda.4.life to view many more pictures of the car.

    mg zs steering wheel

    when getting the steering wheel grab the airbag/horn ring with all wires and the 4 screws for ring pink wire and white wire are not needed. green wire is horn . red/yellow wire and red wire are for airbag before staring disconnect battery t30 star key to take airbag off unplug airbag and horn and earth wire make shore steering wheel straight 19 mm socket to undo center nut and take column cover off 3 philips screws then there 3 philp screws holding on airbag/horn ring on honda horn wire is red join to mg green wire airbag honda yellow wire to mg red wire and honda green wire to mg red/yellow wire do not solder with airbag plugged in as the heat can set it off put mg airbag ring on column screw 4 philips in. plug wire in. put column cover back on. put steering wheel on. plug airbag and horn in all in and working and srs airbag light is off but dont no if it will work in a crash and i'm not gonna crash it to test that part this is a guide so you will bee doing this at your own risk

  19. Hey lads, Have previously put a build thread on civiclife forum but thought I'd wack one up here too for different opinions etc. Currently I have re-sprayed the grill and re-badged boot... Ive cleaned up bay, powder coated rocker cover and fitted short ram induction kit (soon to be cold air induction kit)... Removed headlight washer jets... New head unit, fusion sub and fli door speakers... Next I plan to fill jet holes in front bumper and re-spray it, along with skirts and rear bumper as they have a few dings etc. Purchased the relevant stuff for this from halfords, had a question though... If i get paint colour using cars ext. paint code... Once lacquered will it have the desired effect or will it look out of place.... The silver has a metallic shine to it but not sure if my sprayed bumpers will come out the same as not done this before? Any tips welcome please!! Here's a couple pics anyway...
  20. Hi all. Been having a look on the net and here but no luck. Below are some pics of rust under the chassis of my aerodeck. Looks like its where the inner wing panel joins the floor. There's the factory seam sealer which has started coming away as well. Quite a lot of flaking metal which to me doesn't seem good... I'm hoping it can be cut out and plated without top much hassle. I did wonder about cutting the same section out of a good body and having that welded in place... pics below are the drivers side, passenger is similar. Any suggestions? Strange thing is its not been noted on previous mot tests.
