Least you wouldn't get into trouble for a few hours then
Haha couple of hours rest bite. Sounds like a plan. Maybe I'll bolt myself in the garage when I here the lancer coming back ...
-
Yeah, weather is shocking at the moment, can't get near mine to clean it, the only day in the last couple of weeks that was any good was xmas day and I got a bollocking for thinking about it.
The Megs stuff is good and the ultimate wash and wax seems to last for ages too, good value and available at halfrauds.
Yeah hate to say it but I think I might need to pop into halfrauds on the way there or back.
Ha cleaning the car on Xmas day, that would've gone down like a sack of sh*t my side too lol.

Careful there, unless you don't want nookie that night!
Not sure how many kudos I'll have left for that dragging her London and back!!
It might not go down too well if you lose her and she gets stuck for 3 hours on the north circular.
Ha no it won't. She wouldn't have a clue how to get back off.

Cheers Nick, will have a browse back through.
I do have half a bar of dodo clay left which, weather permitting, I will get on with this week. Although the way the weather is today I might be waiting a while as the last time I washed, clayed, polished and waxed I think novels out there for 6 hours!!
May have a look at the Meg stuff, I have heard good things about them in the past.
Thing is right now, I need to pick up a bottle today/tomorrow and I don't think there is anywhere near me that sells dodo products over the counter, so may well try that next time. Opie oils sell their products so when I order oil n filter, I'll get some of their shampoo too.

Esp when I'll be driving the faster car home so she can't catch up and beat me haha

Ha yeah I've been checking the route. Will be a pain. But shouldn't be too bad. Time will tell. Will be leaving at 3 ish. Although the wife isn't too keen on London driving. Haven't quite told her how far into London it is

I've found a lot of 'renewals' are actually an increase or such a slight decrease it's not worth it! Shopping around is definitely the best port of call. I've changed every year for the last 3 years now.

Ok all. So with the expected arrival of the MC2 tomorrow night and the fact I had to clean up the lancer to photo and list on fleebay for selling, I have ran out of shampoo. I have always used autoglym shampoo, but have just used the last of it on the lancer.
And this being my first black car, I wanted to get peoples opinion on what shampoo to use next. The same again? I'm not in the market for ridiculously priced stuff, unless it really is a cut above the rest.
Also, I'm currently using a micro fibre MIT and the two bucket method to clean, which seems to be pretty good and then stages of different micro fibre cloths to dry down. Anything else anyone uses?? Similarly I use autoglym high resin polish too and currently have a pot of dodo juice wax.

I won't say am only 26 then woops and thats with car left in a car park not a drive way too
Area codes must count for a lot then!!!
-
I think I'll be chatting to them too.
£470 I think mine is, only 3 years ncd but I'm 41 ffs.
Bloody hell that's a lot.
Think my old man, 51 (complete different genre of car) has a new A3 tdi and pays something silly like £190!!!
-
As above feed up with people bull sh1ting turn up and it's a pile of sh1t. Waste of time and money. If some one lived near a car and could look at for me and said it was a good to buy then I would prob travel to get it. Also I have the cash so I'm in no rush to buy one!
Yeah I can imagine it being a real shitter doing that. Touch wood (and a massive touch wood) I haven't had that yet.
Suppose that's a nice position to be in mate. And I guess your not reliant on getting one so you can hold out.
But if there is ever one near me, let me know and if be happy for a road trip
-
Turning up and them being dogs??
Definitely an Achilles heel when they're rarer and rarer cars to find.
-
I will thanks Carl.
We are currently half way through our existing policy so would rather finish this one off first, get up to 9 NCD and then look to change next year to a specialist.

Yeah they work fine.
Ms have a weird rear lca. It's same as eg dc2. But has ek middle bush. So yeah ek shocks fit.
HSD's will be going on then
-
Anything more than 50miles is to far for me lol
What puts you off travelling so much mate?
-
Yeah it looks great mate. Will bear that brand in mind as and when the time comes!!
Top job!!
-
I only pay £350 mine 5 ncb
What do I win lol
There should definitely be a prize lol that's a great price. Esp with all mods declared.

That's looks really smart mate. What paint did you use??
-
Yeah it has.
Spot on
-
Productive day today then mate! Much better
Has the thermostat sorted the idling issue??
-
Wow that's quite a difference! You think maybe is because it's a female???
I know areas can make quite a difference, although Swindon isn't the best of towns!!
Have to say I think my quote is looking pretty darn good
-
Front knuckles. Rear trailing arms. Rear upper arms are the same across 92-00
But ek uses longer pressed rear lca.
The front upper arms are completely different. The subframe, rack and column are different. And the front lower arms are again like pressed and welded rather than cast like ours. And mount differently to the sub frame
Great info mate thanks!! So do you know whether coils from an EK would go on??
-
Well it's not quite as simple as that lol.
I'm only 25 but the policy is under my wife's name (I had a 300bhp WRX at 21 insured under her name) so technically she has history of performance cars too plus she's 6 years my senior and has 8 yrs no claims
Win win for me
Just wondered what other ppl were paying and whether any of the site sponsors are worth having a conversation with.

Insurance. Should probably start another thread, but will just bung it in here for now.
Who are people with?? There are a couple on here I think, sky and someone else.
Just called my insurers to have it changed over, no increase, but a handling fee (feckers)
So will work out at £370 for the year. Is this about right??
The hunt for M's thread!
