  1. Yeah I think what the previous owner has done it to by-pass the immobiliser and may be there is an after market one installed somewhere. We tried this yesterday to take the battery terminal off and leave it for a while and then turn ignition on and plug battery back in to see if it restarts the immobiliser and then tried same thing again this morning but still nothing..so around lunch time I left the car at mechanic and came back. 4 o'clock got his phone call to come and collect the car. When I went there he said he tried the battery method again and it WORKED third time Yay back to normal for now. The new switch is working fine. Starts first time and the Green light comes on like normal. So pleased its back to normal.
  2. Green light was coming on off properly but since he changed the switch the Green light has stopped. Does that mean the immobiliser is on?
  3. Any chance someone can find this out for me by looking at their own car. Where do these 2 plugs go?
  4. We are gonna try to put the old switch back and see if they had done anything to the switch to immobilise it
  5. Can someone find out where those two plugs are meant to go? Also Let's assume there is an after market immobiliser installed and its activated. Any ideas how to restart it?
  6. Yeah still unplugged mate. According to the mechanic the white plug is from the transponder and the Black plug is from ecu but somehow they have been both by-passed. Don't know what the previous owner had done to it. It came with only 1 key. No red key. What does that Green light with the key sign mean?
  7. Simpo the Red and Black wires he soldered back to where they were in the old switch. If you look at the first pic you can see its been soldered in exact place. I will check the fuses to see if any is blown out.
  8. He put the wires exactly where they were soldered before, there was nothing extra there. Do you know what are those 2 plugs in the first pic that were left unplugged? One is White one is Black.
  9. The Green light with key was coming on before and when I will switch the car off it will Flash and turn off like normal. Blue light has a red and black cable which were soldered to the old ignition switch. When I will turn the ignition on the light would turn off and as soon as I will turn it off the light will start flashing. Here is a pic of old switch where you can see the cables soldered onto it
  10. No not when I turn the ignition on or off. . Not coming on at all
  11. Ok just to show you guys What's happening. Here is the picture of 2 cables that were unplugged when he opened the cover The Blue light that's installed in the car The ignition switch where he resoldered the wires where they were connected originally
  12. Just tried it and the Green key light isn't coming on
  13. I ordered the switch from Honda as it was only £38 new while breaker was asking £15 for a used one. Got it this morning Took it to my mechanic to be replaced. The previous owner has done something to the car. The were 2 cables unplugged behind the wheel. Also I have this Blue light that flashes when the ignition is off. That was soldered onto the ignition switch. After replacing the switch now the ignition lights are coming on properly but it won't start at all. He even tried starting from the engine bay but to no avail. He thinks the immobiliser has been activated which is the reason the car is not responding. Any ideas how to start the car now? Been told by an electrician to leave the battery disconnected for a while and then turn the ignition on and connect the battery. Just waiting now.
  14. Congrats mate..How much did you get in the end for it. Please let us know who bought it
  15. I had my first ever B18 experience today and i loved it . I have made a new topic in General Car Chat section asking for some advice. Kindly have a look and let me know what you guys think about the car. Here is a pic Here is a link to the thread http://civic5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8049-silver-vti-aerodeckadvice-needed/
  16. Hi everyone.I saw this VTI Aerodeck advertised near me so went to have a look today and had my first experience of B18. OmG now I know what I have been missing out on. It's so different from the D14 I drive unbelievable lol . I was driving it the same way I drive my MB2 with RPM around 2500 to 3000 then the guy showed me how Vtec works and completely blew me away. I was like this is so awesome haha. He went to 100 mph on a small street with RPM between 8-9K. WoW So now coming to the main point of the topic. I have checked the insurance and it's about 250 more than what I am paying for my MB2 atm which isn't too bad. Some details about the car: Completely standard but it comes originally with a VTI-S Kit including the Mid-Spoiler. Mileage is 113K Tax 31/01/14 so that's an immediate expense of £123 if I was to get it for 6 months MOT 07/14 with no advisories on the previous one. FSH till 96K. He said he had done 2 services since then latest one in August last year but didn't have stamp for that. Vtec kicks in properly. No smoke. No noises inside at all. Cambelt was done at 75K and clutch changed at 102K. Gear changes were smooth. 5 previous owners were in the same family. Interior is spotless. Bad Points that I noticed: Slight Rust on the Passenger side rear arch which is visible in pic Slight Rust under rear number plate Alloys can do with a refurb His asking price is £1195 and last he would do is £1100. I offered him £1000 which he refused. So now I need your expert advice looking at the car and the mileage and what I have explained about it what do you guys think the price should be? I am very interested in this but I think he is charging a bit too much. Here are the pics. Obviously I had to take them with mine
