what car is the black coupe James? -
ah i see, im old and forgot how expensive car insurance is for younger people these days. Im sure you could find all the mini me info on the net if you hunt about. Like hickster said changing your gearbox would make a big difference and maybe a lighter flywheel too, decent lowered suspension too will make it handle better and quicker through the corners too. These things m8ght not add power but they will make your car quicker.
-
i understand what you are saying, i never said MB3's were Sh!t, the point i was making is if he is looking for a good bit more power it would be cheaper to switch to a Vti. I reckon a stock MB3 would take a mk4 Gti!.
-
I know you did thats why i put the Wtcc photo up to see if you would bite lol.

Wow i really like this. -
insurance isnt too bad for a Vti or fuel consumption either, im sure it wouldnt be half the mpg of a mb3!.
-
i thought you would be first in there with the Btcc estate photo Tom!, it looks way better than the Wtcc hatchback.
-
Honda WTCC dont think so!
-
Nice one, they look better without the centre caps, they are still cool looking wheels nowadays for a 14 or 15 year old design.
-
Haha thus why i said VTi and not MB6 so he could have the option of a Hearse if he so wanted!
-
Sell your MB3 and get a VTi, pick a good one up for under a grand now, much better bang for buck than trying to get more out of your MB3.

First 3 cars are cracking looking motors. -
I loved mine too, pretty sure mine had centre caps that hid the wheel nuts and they were held on by a blue anodised nut with a orange pin through it.
-
Nice motor, i had them wheels on my Astra GTE back in the late 90's, bought them brand new they are Tsw Evo R's, the original Evo's had flat spokes.
-
no i bought it up north from a place called Golspie, it originates from Aberdeen though, you might have seen me in it I work offshore so im always through that way, its parked up in Kintore at my mates house just now, people on this forum have owned it before, a boy from Turriff had it i think his name was mb6 loon on here. I took the 17's off for winter thats just standard Vti-s wheels painted anthracite thats on now, it drives far better with 15's, the steering is lighter and it feels quicker.
-
yeah i need to get on top of it and get her all cleaned up underneath and undersealed.
-
Harsh winters and loads of salt on the roads up here takes its toll, i probably wont break it unless it needs loads of welding, its had welding at a couple of the jacking points already.
-
thats coz you canna see the underside in the photo Jake!
-
Here is a photo of it today right after it smoked a Mazda RX8 on the way to Aberdeen!
-
Think it was the original one.
