  1. Quick update really, It needs it's brakes doing so I'll be sticking some EBC Discs and maybe EBC Yellow pads on for a bit more brake bite, I didn't want to change bits on it although my eBay watch list is now full of exhausts for it which are cheap but the induction kits are ridiculously priced Next up though is to remove the badges from the rear as it'll just look like a 140 as it's not got the Dynamic Pack sadly and then maybe some alloys for it then perhaps lower it It's ridiculously impractical although I've done 1500 miles in it since I got it already somehow My wallet hates me now although driving it makes you realise why you bought it, It even causes other Celica owners to wave at you like lunatics until you realise why they're waving, I've had a few do it and I just thought they were nuts
  2. Cheers Tom, I must admit I'm really surprised how much I miss the Yaris, I kept it insured for a week whilst the Celica was getting sorted and having sold it yesterday I really do miss it although when the Celica hits 6000rpm you soon forget it I thought I posted on here fairly recently on this post but I clearly didn't and then forgot my password to boot, I'm doing well in my old age haha I'll update on here soon hopefully again
  3. I've completely forgotten about this thread as I've not been around very much, I'd kept the Yaris T Sport, put it in for it's MOT this year and it went through after needing a tyre replaced as the tracking was out by miles after I'd fitted my new wheels / fitted new wishbones then got 4 Wheel alignment done somehow it was still uneven wear on the edge(Maybe to do with my cornering style ) so after doing that it was fine for a week or so then the EML light came on I'd checked what it was and found it was the cat system, For some reason Toyota only did the front section as a complete piece system from manifold to rear box which would cost more than the car cost to replace so I stuck it on eBay filthy dirty, Cleaned a bit of it and someone else now owns it for peanuts so they can enjoy it (They're pleased with it which is good) This is how it left me So it's replacement has been sorted, 1500 quid later and I've got this sitting outside It's awesome as well, Lower mileage than the Yaris, 2ZZ-GE Engine giving me 190bhp when it's on lift and is remarkably comfy to drive when you don't want to spank it everywhere as it loves fuel if you do I bought it even though it doesn't have much history but given that if they're not looked after it would have definitely blown up by now and it seems to be fine, Lift engages cleanly, Just had the wheels refurbed / 4 new tyres clutch done and seems in pretty good nick Driving it home, went over a bump and an almightly scraping sound revealed the undertray had fallen off even though it was completely fine on the test drive, I had a look underneath and discovered a lot of oil dripping down around the gearbox Drove it to my local garage and they'd told me that when the clutch was done the garage hadn't replaced the driveshaft oil seal, I had a word with the seller who was completely fine about it and even put the majority in towards the cost of the repair / labour costs as he felt he should have sorted it but didn't see it. I've done 500 miles in it in 2 weeks so far and I absolutely love it so hopefully it'll treat me well I'll update as I go along if I'm allowed
  4. I do like me a nice Celica, I've had 3 of them myself (Any excuse to pic whore lol) Just keep an eye on the oil usage, the 7A-FE engine used to like it quite a bit but other than that they're great little cars lol My first one My Favourite One My mate's one which I bought off him Great cars though regardless, Enjoy it and it'll treat you well I'm sure
  5. Blimey it's been a while since I updated this, I've put the Monza's on and went with Bridgestone RE002, Fantastic tyres, it's really transformed the car, I'm going tearing round rounadbouts etc with it and people are wondering when it's going to tip over but it just grips and grips now, I've had a few issues with the car admittedly, it's got typical jap build quality to the point I have to drive along leaning on the doorcard tostop it shaking itself to death, One speaker isn't working brilliantly so that'll be getting changed at some point, It's needed both lower arms done and in doing so we've managed to snap an engine mounting stud so it's only help on with the central one and one other instead of 2 so it's making a funny noise but not rattling / shaking itself loose. Plenty to do and plenty of fun to have in the meantime, I've also upgraded the brakes to EBC pads and it now stops very nicely as well too, In fact I think the standard set up on the brakes of this were overkill but I've just gone one step further. If you want me I'll be enjoying a B road somewhere
  6. They used the MA-Z1 tyres for drifting a few years back before they switched to Achilles tyres so they must be doing something right they just seem difficult to find as they're not on the big sites I find the Maxxis ??
  7. It won't fit an MB3 as in the MB3 the cat is in the manifold not underneath the car, I believe you should be able to get a MB6 decat to make it the same length although it'd be far less hassle to just get a custom one made You SHOULD be able to make it fit although the MB6 diameter of pipe is bigger so you'd need a reducer, In terms of the shape of the car, It'll work but you'd need to do as I mentioned above, It can be done but it's a pain in the arse, Another option I THINK fits is the EJ saloon with a EG decat to extend it if it's not from a 1.5
  8. I popped one wheel up to the arch to see how it'd look and I think they'll work. Hopefully I'll get the new tyres soon Cheers for the comments, I'm glad the wheels aren't any bigger as tyres are so cheap in that size lol
  9. Yes it generally results in more ride comfort but because the sidewall is soft ( also a problem on T1R ) it flexes under cornering, if it flexes under cornering it then wears the shoulder of the tyre out sooner. Generally the harder the sidewall the less flex the better which is why I've gone RE002 because I've not seen anything anywhere saying the shoulders melt as with the other 2 if cornered hard
  10. When it comes to the Rainsport 3s even in 195 50 15 the soft sidewall does show itself, as for the RE003s there's no release date for them over here yet so it depends if you know where to get them
  11. I was going to get Rainsport 3's as I recommended them to a friend of mine with an MX5, Very very grippy but very soft as well so it's a counteraction, Because of this I decided to go away from the Toyo / Rainsports but couldn't stretch the budget to Pilot Sport 3's so I've bought some Bridgestone Potenza RE002's, I've read a few reviews and they're long lasting, very very grippy in the dry and certaInly not too shabby in the wet either so I'm looking forward to fitting them If they're good enough for people to put them on Impreza's / Evo's / Monaro's etc then they should be fine for my Yaris lol
  12. Well time for a quick update, I've decided to keep the white Monza's and have just had to get 4 new tyres for them as the others were 195 45 15 so on the car it'd look like a rollerskate. It's just had new front brakes and still needs the rears doing and to top it all I found a screw in the inside tread block of my tyre which is why I could either replace 2 or just get new ones for the other wheels I've decided to go for Bridgestone RE002's which from what I can gather are meant to be pretty good just not for winter so they'll be here by the end of the week hopefully and then I can get them fitted Once they're on I'll get wheel alignment sorted then hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it like I first did when I got it It's a genuine hoot to drive considering it's a Yaris, I'd recommend one to anyone looking at a cheap, reliable / fun car that's sensible at times as wel. Anyway when funds allow I'll be getting the Monza's done in Black, Tint the windows a bit, add some wind deflectors / a Blitz panel filter then maybe add some strut braes but apart from that it's staying pretty much standard. Here's a few pics from the other day when we went for a wander More soon hopefully
  13. There's a thread for most things
  14. Liking the look of the car and can't argue for the price, I'm not too keen on the wheels, I'd have gone for 16's on a hatch but that's another debate for another day as to which suits what car lol
  15. They're not mine I've not bought them yet I'm pondering putting the white Monza Rs on as it'd be cheaper than new wheels and perfect fit would just need spigot rings and bigger profile tyres but I could get the lot sorted for 150 quid I expect ( brother is a tyre fitter by trade) I fancied the dark wheels but as you said you can't really see them properly although the other option was white with a black lip but I don't think that'd work either
