Question

cv_joint_12.jpg

Not my pic but got same problem, took wheel off to clean ABS sensor as light is on but saw black grease all over inside the wheel then had a look at CV joint and saw where the grease is coming from. The rubber gaiter has come off lose and I don't think I saw boot clip that holds it together. Would it be simple as pushing gaiter back in and put a clip around it or is there another way to fix?

To be honest, the damage has already been done, the grease has gotten out, and dirt has gotten in, it'll only be a matter of time before it starts knocking, so either replace the C.V. Joint or replace the shaft. J+R do shafts for 35 quid so you can't go wrong with them.
