If the oil light is on , and the engine is tapping and has no power you have damaged the big end bearings (the engine is seizing up ) anymore runing /driving of the car will only damage the engine more . by the sounds of it you will be looking at an engine rebuild or a second hand engine . How many mile has the engine done .

If you can post a video of the engine noise

This is how it will sound if the big end bearings have gone :

Rich.

it doesn't sound anything as bad as that!!

just the tappets sound a tad louder then normal, so hopefully she's not to bad :?

i'll get a vid up later!

thanks

lol mate, maybe it's coincidence then....

Generally though, big end bearing issues make a good motor sounds like an old diesel tractor :D

If you tappets are loud sounding, and you loosing power, Maybe an injector has been damaged... The B series injectors are noisy anyway, and if one is gone / going / slightly clogged it'll make it worse!

Get a vid up mate! :)
