Hi

I am looking for good coilovers or aftermarket springs shocks combo that will fit mb6 vti-s with least modification required. I have no preference to coilovers just want something which will give good n comfortable ride on some bumpy roads with abt 40 lowered front n back.

I know coilovers can be really expensive and thats why I want to ask if anyone knows any good aftermarket spring shocks which are cheaper than coilovers.

Thanks

Koni STR.T (non adjustable version of the sport) is widely rated as a matched spring shock combo, cheaper than coilovers. Plenty of cars on here have them, have a look through the showroom section. MG ZS suspension also popular mod to the MB6 (better ride and a bit lower).

Just had a look at Koni STR.T. Managed to find the whole kit for round abt £300 which is not bad. It lowers both front and back by 35mm. Right now I have 40mm good springs on standard shocks and I've had them like that for over a year and the ride is horrible especially when you have to go over rough roads. Will this improve the ride by a lot?

James has Koni strt kit on his: http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=4184

I have MGZS on mine with Eibach prokit -40mm springs: http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=5611&start=40

...and stoatman has MGZS with standard springs which gives only a small (20mm) drop, but makes a world of difference: http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=7121&start=200

I am actually struggling to find 40mm springs most of them are 30mm on several sites. I wonder if koni did 40mm springs.

I just found out that Koni STR.T does not work correctly on the 1.8 VTi model, as far as I understand the vehicle lowers too much on the front and is dramatically softer than the standard suspension set up so has an adverse effect on the vehicles handling.

Anyone else know anything about this?

No issues with that on Koni Sport setup as you can adjust the damping settings:)
