philgor Posted February 22, 2012 Share Posted February 22, 2012 compaired to some my 96 mb1, has only just done it's ran in, it ticked over to 100000 miles on the way home from work, it's about due for its first service now isn't it?just ticked over 110000 miles the other day, still plenty of life in the old girl yet . and still below average mileage, .112321 miles as i pulled up tonight.had a mercedes-benz E240 in for mot today on 33500 KM's (about 21000 miles) on a 2000 'V' plate, it was mint underneath, some may know that the merc "E" series are rot badly (that bad for a recall), by now an average E series, is scabby underneath, rust forming on the bonnet, door's, boot lid and arches. and that the brake pipe's have long been replaced with copper line's.this one was like new underneath not a speck of rust to be seen. i can quite safely say that "E" clas merc is probley the cleanest "E" class in the country... the key thing was it was imported from germany about a yr ago......
