Nairnster
Detailing clay. Its used to remove contaminants from the cars paint before all the polishing and waxing begins. A good finish is all in the preperation. That looks red because it has removed the Tcut used by the previous owner. All of the little black specs etc are contaminants that a wash alone wasnt able to remove.
james
clay baring also gives a better longer lasting wax coat .. the wax will stick to the paint not to road grime, fallout, tar spots ect

NIKH25
I wouldn't be keen on drilling the floor either, must be some frames out there.
