vtismill
Hiya I have a very annoying problem with my vtis at moment well it's been happening for a while nowBasically when the car is cold it holds back majorly when driving pretty much at any revs I'm any gear, holds back and slows down just backfires constantly then if I put foot down a bit more it clears but then will do it again just a few seconds later, when engine is hot it doesn't happen and it's always at like half throttle, still does it even with new engine although I did use my old dizzy? Could it be that? Leads? Ecu? I've no idea it's very very frustrating It's like it's over fuelling does it at idle too when cars not hot, any ideas please? Would be much appreciated thanks very much!
simpo
Firstly car will be sluggish if ur trying to rag it when it's cold as vtec doesn't work intill car is up to normal temp!Dizzy could be the problem but I would start by changing plugs and leads as its a lot cheaper than a dizzy
vtismill
Cheers for the reply, car never gets ragged from cold never take it above 3k revs till car is warm and definitely don't take it anywhere near vtec! I've spent loads on this car and look after it well, It does it in all gears up to 3k revs so in 5th it will still do it even at 50mph, didn't word it very well, will try plugs and leads though cheers mate

Paulvti
leads and plugs first if still no cure it'll be the crank position sensor or coil inside the distributor starting to fail,I would know I've had many fail in the past
