SpYk3
Hy guys, I have some questions for you.A friend told me that I could go from 75hp to 90hp if I remove or replace a gasket located under the acceleration lid.I understood that is a gasket for air adminsion in the engine,or something like that. Now my questions : It is posible to do this without damaging something at the engine? It is true that you get 90hp or near? What is the best solution :removing the gasket or replacing with one from 90hp engine? The fuel consumption it's considerable? Thank you very much ! Excuse my lame english ! The car is : Honda Civic Fastback MA8 ,1.4i 55kw/75 hp equipped with d14a5 engine ! EmZvr
The procedure is 100% safe, don't worry you won't damage anything Yes you'll get ~90hp, the intake manifold gasket is the only difference between 75hp and 90hp engines. Well.. the ECUs are different but I doubt there will be significant differences there and they might be just different part numbers.Replace the gasket with one for the 90hp engine. There are two choises: paper gasket or metal gasket. It doesn't matter which one you'll choose but don't just put back the throttle body without a gasket ! Stock 75hp gasket: Paper 90hp gasket: Metal 90hp gasket: The fuel economy will be the same. It may even improve a little.
