ep82
Hi everyone A stupid question here. Can anybody tell me if carbon wraps will damage the lacquer underneath? I mean If I was to wrap my bonnet and for some miracle we have a long and sunny summer, will the heat it collects (as it's black) do any long term damage to the lacquer under it? and er, I wasn't talking about just the 1 year. over numbers of years.... Thanks

Thanksprobs peel the lacquer off when you remove it, only takes a stone chip to get it started but you might get lucky 50/
Krzys
Long time no see dude! I think there's potential for it to take lacquer or even paint with it. I bet that something like using a heat gun to warm up the glue when removing would help but I think if it's going to happen, it'll just do it! I'd agree with the above and say 50/50. Jayhoath83
Wen i did mine yes it deffo f**ked the lacquer and the paint but only in the area that was getting bad so if ur paint n lacquer are in gr8 condition then it should be fine but as said it could go either way
simpo
Would be just like having a sticker on your car for year surely. So I would say it wouldn't take it off. As krzys says use a heat gun to take it off
ep82
Thanks everyone. Krzya, Yeah dude. long time no see.Really miss my Deck! I haven't been on many forums for a while, heck I haven't done anything to cars for the last 2 years until a couple of days ago when I fitted a NUR spec onto my EVO First mod on that in 10 years of ownership Looks like I won't be wrapping then.LOL. Simpo. Yeah it's like a sticker but a very large one which attracts alot of heat my main worry is the amount of heat it gathers and that will effect the lacquer under it. I was looking foward to it as well!! did a couple of photoshop edits and it looks fairly mean OK OK tom. I will try and sort it out now. the photos are all still there but it's just moved folder so the links are all borken. can you remind me which ones you need fixing as I forgotten which ones I did except the removing res box.

ep82
I had a look and the headlight one seems to be working from here. I am missing the bumper pictures tho. might need to dig around in my hard disk and see if I can upload them again. Can you let me know if the headlight ones are still working? james
I'd be thinking it's more down to the way it will be removedIf you remove it with plenty of heat softening the glu enough then you should have no problems as long as the paint is in a good state to start with. Plasti dip can **** up your paint: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154117679445099&set=a.231937850098.273002.643445098&type=1
