burning oil

iv been told the B series enging burn some oil but today iv noticed that when i brake whilst going down hill i get some blue smoke from the exhaust, is this normal??

im guessing it could be the valve stem seals? could it be any thing els?

it does do it on motorway when the vtec comes in,

ok if so easyest way would be to take off the head?

how about changing them with the head still on? untill i get my other car on the road i need a car and if i was to have the head off id want to get a little head work done whilst it was off lol :D

Yeah would make a lot of sense to get any work done while its off..port/polish etc or you going for more work? I take it theres alot of smoke, or just a little?

the b18 can get ovel bores or piston ring wear so when you have head is off get your block and pistons checked .you should be able to see if you have a problems a as the bore looks glazed with burnt oil .

Unless there is some super cool tool that i dont know about, you will defo need to take the head off to do the valve stem oil seals if thats what it is!
