KiNK43
common issue dude. The synchro is worn or the selector ring or the gear is chewed up. Changing the oil isnt going to stop the crunch unfortunately..If you want to repair it. Cheapest option is to find a second hand working box.or strip down the box and repair the necessary worn/damaged parts which can be expensive especially if your paying labour. Krzys
Might be worth replacing the clutch kit whilst you've got the box off.
Roj
I had this problem last year, changing the gearbox oil solved it. First time it was ever changed in the car's life!

Roj
The oil was £25 for 2.5L of Land Rover gearbox oil (believe me it works) and then it got changed during a service so I couldn't really give you an actual figure. Took less than an hour to change though.
KiNK43
Landrover gear oil is fine yeah.change it, you'll want new oil anyway can always drain it off and reuse it.Just wouldn't get your hopes up mate..seriously anyone who know my gearbox history. I've been there and done that. Must have spent hundreds on MTF. Never makes any difference for me.
