gear box crunches from 3rd to 4th!?

common issue dude. The synchro is worn or the selector ring or the gear is chewed up.

Changing the oil isnt going to stop the crunch unfortunately..

If you want to repair it. Cheapest option is to find a second hand working box.

or strip down the box and repair the necessary worn/damaged parts which can be expensive especially if your paying labour.

Yeh was considering doing the clutch at the same time krzys, ummm interesting roj I just dont want to buy box oil n it dont make a difference, was it dear to change the oil?

The oil was £25 for 2.5L of Land Rover gearbox oil (believe me it works) and then it got changed during a service so I couldn't really give you an actual figure. Took less than an hour to change though.

Landrover gear oil is fine yeah.

change it, you'll want new oil anyway can always drain it off and reuse it.

Just wouldn't get your hopes up mate..

seriously anyone who know my gearbox history. I've been there and done that. Must have spent hundreds on MTF. Never makes any difference for me.
