philgor
it didn't seem to be that well publicised for some weird reason, but a major change on speed limits happened on the 1st of april... https://movingon.blog.gov.uk/reminder-hgv-speed-limit-changes-in-england-and-wales/ the laws dating from the invention of the wheel, have been altered to allow hgvs to travel at a higher limit. single carriageways, when the national speed limit is enforced , this has been increased from 40mph to 50mph.duel carriageways, when the national speed limit is enforced, the limit has been increased from 50mph to 60mph. personally, i have noticed a difference, but found it was still the foreign vehicles that were still doing the old limits, and there still seem to be a few people who still do 40.. has anyone else noticed, and do you think its a good idea? Chandler
doesn't really affect me not driving a lorry, but finally they can go faster haha
philgor
yeah, same here, but long single carriageway roads are so much nicer to drive on when you're doing 50, over 40...

fyfie5
I had noticed on single carriageways they were going a tad faster but never thought anything of it
philgor
I know the A9 has had a 50mph limit for hgv's for a while, but the new limit only effects England and Wales, Scotland has not got the new limits...
