Dash, Sidelight, Rear Sidelights not working???
johngreen537 replied to djbaybeeraver23's topic in Electrical
Right mate.... In this order.... Under bonnet fuse box: Fuse 41 & Fuse 40 They wire through to: Under Dash fusebox: Fuse 19 (10A) Which then wires through to the DImmer switch. If the dimmer switch is not connected, NO lights will come on on ANY instruments. After that, it's down to each bulb. My guess, is either, a bad connection in the dimmer, or a blown fuse. Hope that helps! -
Dash, Sidelight, Rear Sidelights not working???
johngreen537 replied to djbaybeeraver23's topic in Electrical
There's a specific fuse for the dash lights mate. it comes one with the side lights, so will be a fuse, or something you've wired in incorrectly I'd think. I'll get the manual out! -
Not uncommon with decat's mate, given Honda's burn oil in VTEC, the cat normally dissipates a tiny amount when it's burned off. I'd blip the throttle at standstill, watch for small puffs then. If it puffs oil then, could be Oil Rings. Either way, just sounds like a poorly looked after car to me.

Engine compartment mate. Think it's got a radio / stereo type picture! -
I've never heard a bad word said about MiesterR's. On this, or any other forum!

Could be 'normal' I suppose if it's got a decat..... Otherwise, I'd be looking to get it VERY cheap, or walking.

Blue smoke in vtec, indicates either, a little bit too much oil (not great really) or valve stem seals are worn (Again, not good) TBH, I'd be walking, the stem seals job will set you back a good few hundred quid, of it's overfilled to the point of blue smoke puffing, then it's not been carefully looked after.

As noodles said.. It's not an ODB2 loom, so you're looking for a small blue plug with 2 wires on! may, or may not, be clipped in behind the kick panel!

Springs look fine mate, just check no fluid is leaking from the shocks! Otherwise, buy them

Get some single hex sockets mate. Generic double hex ones will round off the bolt heads if they are slightly seized. Single hex grip the whole nut head rather than the edges of it! Around £4-£6 per socket, but, 1 stripped head, and you'd pay £20 not to have the grief! 14,15&17mm if I remember rightly for M suspension!

Was literally a tiny bit on one of the corners if memory serves rightly. I never had issues not using it, just make sure you clean the residue from the cover AND head. Also worth slightly wetting both side of the cam cover with fresh oil, just enough to make it shine, to help create the seal, the same with the oil filter gasket!- 3,767 replies

I'm servicing mine nearly every 6-8 weeks at the minute as I'm doing so many miles! Think there was an extra bit of gasket sealer 'recommended' in the valve clearance guide mate, personally I never bothered and never had issues. May be worth looking at though!- 3,767 replies

MB2 D14 poor fuel consumption - 20mpg...???
johngreen537 replied to Paul67's topic in Engine & Chassis
I get better MPG from Tesco 99 RON than any other fuel mate. Generally get 30-40 miles per tank more on Tesco 99RON than any other fuel, including Optimax and BP Ultimate. Think a lot of it depends on condition of car, how clean the injectors are, how good the combustion is etc etc etc. No doubt it varies from car to car. In performance terms, I think Rich and the gang at DD did a study of it. On Keith's EP3, 95-99RON made 12bhp difference. Many studies have been done, and as you lot know, I'm no great believer in mass follow the crowd mentality, and find out my own things my own way. As for you fuel consumption issues mate, 02 sensor would be my first bet, then potentially a dirty / sticky injector or plug. If you are close to Leicester, I'd pop it into DynoDaze and stick it on the rollers. It's amazing what you can discover from a power curve and 30 mins with Rich
