When to replace distributor cap and rotor?
aerodeckcrewser replied to Dexter's topic in Engine & Chassis
I change the dizzy cap when i change the spark plugs every year. Cheap enough I use a blue print one £9 part or a £195 dizzy when it goes for not changing the cap. And never use iridium spark plugs Hondas hate them and all high rev cars do. there crap I had two snap on me lucky they didn't damage my pistons. I used the standard ngk with no problems. -
Thanks

Is there a how to on this anyway as I can't find one Is it a case of spraying the chrome and masking all other areas ? And de tango at the same time ? Thanks

Hesam im in cov and use dynodaze. I would go to rich .
-
Well it just shows how honda attracted the rover clients over by there good engines.
-
To add the part number is linked to the mc2 on loads of sites including eBay !
-
What a day the bearings dont fit they matched my reg up aswell and the same part number comes back, abs ring to big and overall couldn't put the hub nut back on. What a waste of time and money :-S
-
Any ideas on bolt sizes for the drop links ? I used the standard ones as I had no longer ones at time so no washers on at the minute so anyone suggest ones I need to add some washers on ?
-
yeah I totally agree , my next toy is a crx ha ha
-
yeah I brought a charcoal grey one off another guy on forum and sold it back to him to get the mc2

small world !!!! did you end up selling that ? the coupe was crushed last week !! been stored for a few yrs in a mates garage. it was wrecked after my bonnet flying up on the motorway.
-
yeah but the timing was advanced and that what it rolled out, I had the same engine put in the coupe and I got 152bhp video on you tube at dyno daze http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZkR1NoYrxg&feature=share&list=PLL7rGQzgE1SWbDAIfYQNYWF7v8sIg2A55

ha ha what was your first car topic now mine was a rover cabriolet all pimped out with the dohc d16a9 crx engine conversion. still miss it but it was proper boy racer style ! ha ha -
okay just ordered locally least I can take back if wrong etc. only thing putting me off buying online with these is some are listed with wrong part numbers or you find the model linked with part numbers to drum brakes and no abs. so not worth the hassle. £100 locally still cheaper then Unipart and euro car part

http://www.sparepartstore24.co.uk/7175309-bta can anyone confirm if these are correct I hope so !! they match all the diameters off the Unipart and eurocarpart bearings for the mc2
-
headache all round cheapest I found is £75 each but there saying it fits other civics I don't know how that can be possible when looking into the pcd and offset etc
-

Just think of the mods and remap fun -
The engine is an all-new direct injection 2.0-litre single turbo four with VTEC and variable timing control producing – and this is the important bit – at least 280bhp. Project team leader Suechiro Hasshi won’t budge when pushed on the exact figure. ‘How much power? It’s 280bhp. More than 280, actually. People say that this is the limit owing to current suspension technology and the performance. But more is… not impossible now then ? ha ha I want one !!! http://maxcdn.fooyoh.com/files/attach/images/1044/126/025/009/2015_Honda_Civic_Type_R_Turbo_5_2_.jpg http://maxcdn.fooyoh.com/files/attach/images/1044/126/025/009/2015_Honda_Civic_Type_R_Turbo_12_2_.jpg
