The chap who I'm going to said within an mb6 2.5 would be fine at around 8.5k revs anywhere else and it's a waste, instead of gases exiting quickly they would be bouncing around off each other or something. Guy was great tbf spent a good time on phone with him being taught a lesson lol

Decided to look into a custom system after a chat with 3 exhaust places and all claiming that a 2.5 inch system on a car with mb6 power and torque figures are a waste and gases wont be exiting anywhere near as fast as they could be and all stated 2 and a quarter would be a far more beneficial way to go even though im aware many will disagree with this. Also 2 reckoned that the mongoose steel would be thinner resulting in a horrible tinny noise added with the fact with the cat being out causing pops has probably burnt out the materials within the two boxes lol. I do appreciate hondas will always have an element of rasp but when the rasp begins to be louder than the normal exhaust note it isnt good lol. But booked in on the 9th of novemer so going to need to decide on tailpipe options and 310 quid for a cat back from a highly rated exhaust maker seemed magic to me when toyosports off ebay are around 100 quid cheaper.

First video sounded as if it could have been raspy but possibly just the echo cause second video and the tip one didn't either. Something definitely wrong with mine sounds a lot raspier than that even from inside

Yours a box or a can Tom? Think may need to bite the bullet and buy a system. Surely lack of baffles has to be the answer lol

Mine was raspy even with standard manifold just got bit louder or worse with aftermarket one. If I tap throttle to make it pop almost sounds mega tinny like one of the boxes or both are empty but could be wrong. I'd be happy with similar to the deck in video to where mine is now. Even in car the tinny rasp is borderline cringe

Hey folks, got stainless manifold decat and mongoose system but the tinny rasp noise is disgusting. I know hondas can rasp but heard so many others that sound nowhere near mine and now had a few honda chaps aknowledge the tinny noise. Cant be picked up much from video but its much worse in person and giving ful chat. Now id believe lack of resonation but likely to be from centre box or rear box? Sadly only have video of old system which was another mongoose but rasp heard in the video is much much worse.

OEM its going to be, not going boost on mb sadly, im actually closer to maybe a mk4 golf with the 180bh turbo model 6 speed. Kinda losing the love for honda atm

Its not the black underseal stuff its brownie sort of almost clear stuff sure its waxoyl. Not after anything major due to age of car just want a little protection from the dreaded salt.

Mine seems to have started sticking also so will keep an eye on this also. My revs begin to hang 1.5-2k when depress clutch peddlewhilst driving.

Dont have the time sadly to do myself and garage where i work the mechanics are always mobbed. However the foreman guy said waxoil will be better than underseal and he done a landrover in about 25 minutes with the gun?

I've no proof of it being lightened or a different clutch just wasnt sure if id notice any difference if a stage 2 was in compared to oem one. As i say this is my first b series but to me just revs how id expect a standard one to rev lol.

For anybody in or around central scotland is their anywhere that can underseal my mb? Few rust bits on the legs forming so want to hit the nail on the head before it fully kicks in.

Hey folks, on my mb6 i apparently have an exedy stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel, no proof bar a piece of paper. If it has ive never been in a standard mb6 to compare but to me revs etc dont go up as fast as id expect for stage 2 unless standard these are awful? I went on the strip with my mates corolla t-sport and their was no difference between us to shout about maybe marginaly favour towards him. However my release bearing etc noisy so changing whole clutch so just went with honda oem after chat with lad at h tune and for budget as well. Would their be much difference between the two if their even is an uprated one within mine?

it will be one doughnut gasket for the 2 bolt end and a triangle gasket for the 3 bolt end mate. Can get a kit with new bolts etc from motor factors if required. Got mine for around 12 quid.

So it'd be okay to remove clip then would it? Not saying duno is 100% accurate but it's surprised a good few cars my mates have ep3 and a corolla t sport n b16eg. Not sayin duno is accurate though as you hear some crazy reading but it pulls very well. But am I better taking cable tie off and seeing how it runs? Just didn't think it'd make any difference but I'm not geared up on this at all

I don't know how their wired in but someone mentioned their must be a wire to It from ecu or something as when unplugged light comes on and runs lumpy and stinks of fuel so unsure what I'd need to do with wires. I didn't know iab were but car ran great and put 187 on dyno. Not sure how it would be if I undone cable tie as the map on ecu apparently deletes them anyway but it certainly whacks through a lot better now on the p28 so unsure if that's due to them being fully disabled and getting most of it from map or not or what would happen if I undone jubilee how itd respond due to them being disabled on map. don't understand it all lol but will run again later. I just don't know what needs done with what wires to be able to remove the vtec controller and not bug the ecu

It is related to this apexi vtec controller and wire for ecu? Is it okay to still run this is thee ecu or how would I go about with wires to eliminate this? Plugged back in car was running fantastic and also found that my iab have been cable tied shut since owned car lol. What would your views on best way to go about this be

Ecu is in and threw eml light on any ideas why ?

It's impossible to find on phone but I'll have a hide at work and look. In relation to stupid question the reset won't affect the map or that does it? Never done any this before so apologies for the mental question lol

What'the ecu procedure and is it essential? Silly question but doesn't take everything off would it lol?

Looking to fit this tomorrow is their any procedures I should be aware of? Know ill need to slightly shave one of the plugs but once shes in does it have to be driven in any certain ways or plum in and go mad for it?
