Looking very nice mate, so what's the difference in the engine?? Cause looks like there's a b18c4 intake manifold on there, is it 9 an integra GSR engine?
-
Oh ok, just found some on eBay, got them on my watch list. I just bought some EG canards, fit perfect. there just fibreglass, you can spend £80 on carbon fibre ones or £35 on fibreglass, I sprayed them a Matt grey, probs do the same with the winglets or I might get them wrapped! Il try and get some pics up tomorrow of them.
-
They look sweet mate! Where did you get them, I'm after some, I just fitted some canards on the front bumper for some added downforce in the corners, but need these to finish the look.

Well done knight!!! You smashed it this month!!! -
I think he did just break it.

Wow, surprised he's still got bits left. Yea he's got a fair bit, still got the engine, s80 gearbox, accord type r seats, spoon breaks and a few other bits, I'm hopefully gonna have a few bits. His accord looks awesome, really well modified, but he's selling it and going for a honda jazz. He hasn't even got it yet and he's already got bits for it

I'm entering mr knight! Here's a link to his build viewtopic.php?f=141&t=4824 I'm not to sure on how to post a pic up of his car, so can one the mods help me out here?? Amazing car, looks awesome and he's always doing something new to it. And he's a top bloke to!! -
Cool, il stick with this idea then, cheers for the help dave. And yea, I have never been down the N/A route, I've had a mr2 twin entry turbo, that went wrong, and a mitsubishi legnum! That went wrong too! Don't get me wrong, turbos are great love the kick from them and the power to but when they go wrong, it's lots of money. And plus, honda never ever built these engines to be used with turbos, or they would if done it themselves! Its all about the VTEC!

Was considering ITB's but a lot of people say there not good for daily driving and there a mission to set up on the dyno, which will cost a bomb! Really?? I've been told 3"or 75mm. Il try and get an old ITR throttle body then, or if I can pick up a decent aftermarket 70mm TB cheap. But yea, seeing as you've got a ton of experience on this dave and got an amazing 310bhp k26 high comp engine Il look into your suggestions, cheers buddy 75mm tb I think that's just to big ,bigger is not always better I do not think the head will be able to pull that much in unless you are doing some major head work oversizing the values and full port and rework ect. The thing is if you big on tb yes it may flow more and sometime better but if and prob will be the TB may not be the limiting factor of the induction flow system .( sometimes bigger just isn't any better esp on N/A ) Glad you going N/A to many Blown Hondas I didn't mean a 75mm TB, my bad, I meant a 75mm intake pipe from the cone filter then reduce it down to 68mm to meet in with the throttle body. How does that sound?
-
Il have a look out for one of these then. Cheers mate.

good call Very good idea! What size should I go for? I'm aiming for a 3 inch intake pipe all the way, but I know il probs have to reduce it at the throttle body. Il probs have to port? The manifold to the same size of the throttle body to get the best results out of it.

I've already got a skunk 2 inlet manifold for the c4 so that's why I've went for another c4 so I don't have to buy another inlet manifold. And the cheapest b18c head I could find was £300, where I got this c4 head that's been sonic cleaned and eveything for £150, BARGAIN!
-
I'm hoping to get a bit more but it all depends on the dyno! I've been reading up and the place where I get my car tuned, eurospec 2000, it's a really hard dyno to impress compared to tdi north! But at the end of the day I'm not looking for a specific number, just want a decent running engine that when you floor it you leave most cars behind! I'm deciding weather or not to strip it out too????

I've decided to go N/A rather than boost. Got a list of mods that I'm gonna be saving up and putting in to the head! Just bought a 18c4 that's had 4thou skimmed off, sonic cleaned, running ITR springs and retainers. This is gonna be my new head that I'm gonna build up. List of parts Skunk 2 stage 2 cams tuner series Skunk 2 alpha series springs and retainers Skunk 2 pro series black cam gears I may go for some pistons but don't know yet. Gates racing timing belt Gonna have to upgrade my intake pipe to atleast 3" and my exhaust manifold to a 4-1 or something! Racing flywheel Stage 2 clutch That's my list, any different ideas are welcome and any help to on info about parts

Yea, looked into staying n/a but priced up skunk stage 2 cams and the complete valve train to, and I think boost is the way to go! Power for your money, but of I do find any second skunk 2 cams or valve train I may go with that. But for now, next mods are lightened flywheel, stage 2 clutch, strut braces and I need to do the cambelt too so that's first. I've done a lot to it so far this year, I just wanna tidy it up, get it looking nice, refurb the wheels and sort out the handling a bit, save up some money and see which route to go for!

It really does drive differently, when VTEC kicks in its crazy. Had a few ep3 type r on the way to japfest and love leaving audi's behind, they get so annoying sitting on your bumper. As for the Ian's, I'm pretty sure there mapped out, got a p06 ecu so it's just running single stage VTEC. I love it anyway, runs amazing and no burning oil.

matty1 replied to knight's topic in Car of the Month 2013 winners
Thanks very much every1 -
also, went back for a retune today, heres the results the green is the first one i did a few weeks back with the old exhaust. the red is todays one, so overall a 6bhp increase. i was expecting more but im happy. the guy who did the tune said it is very good for a stock b18c4 motor, good torque and a good steady line on the bhp.
