I was thinking recently that it must have been coming up to a year now

Well the old girl went up for sale last month and sold next day. I probably could have sold it a few times over lol. It's replacement is something alot less exciting; a 2006 Mazda 3 Sport saloon lol Just putting up a post to say that this is the end of my MB6 adventure. Thanks to everyone on here for their advice and feedback. It's been emotional! I put my DC2 airbox up in the classifieds if anyone is interested http://civic5.com/forum/classifieds/item/119-integra-dc2-airbox-and-cone-filter/

Very scientific lol I think I've the Revtecs replacement lined up, but it could be a month or two before I get it. With the weather getting better I ordered a bottle of 50cal Cover Up and figured Pirates Black would be a great colour to test it on. 50cal products are made locally to me and seem to be starting to get a name for themselves. Cover Up is a filler glaze that has been getting some good reviews on some of the UK forums. A local detailer took this 50/50 to give you an idea what it can do. I now see what the fuss is about with it. It's so easy to put on with my DA and just as easy to wipe off again, but it can be applied by hand as well. The biggest advantage is I could get round the car really quickly and still get fantastic results. Unfortunately I started washing the car early afternoon so the light was fading by time I'd finished, so had to settle for some quick phone pics in poor light. Oh and 50cals Berry Bomb air freshener is grrrreat as well. It more than outlasts my Stripper Scent.

I was hoping to start a new thread on this, but my permissions seem to be up the left at the minute Hopefully it'll get sorted soon, but as I can post on existing threads I might as well put it on here. Can anyone tell me what this hole is for? It looks shaped which makes me think it's supposed to be there and possibly some sort of inspection hole for the gearbox, but wanted to check incase it shouldn't be there, as I've never noticed it before! lol

Thanks dude. Feedback noted I know what you mean about the design of the 1.8T. I've an Audi S3 as well as the Civic and had fun fitting a custom downpipe and larger TIP in that tiny space. God knows what I'll end up changing to lol I keep taking little notions for things then changing my mind. Just before Christmas my front passenger caliper piston started binding. I'd pushed the piston back in the caliper, greased everything up and it worked fine for a few weeks. Last week it bound again, so on Sunday I replaced it with a new part (with some help from Eric The Car Guy on Youtube lol). I've always been pretty scared of anything to do with brakes on a car, but it actually wasn't that bad

Sorry. I forgot to update this. After I laced the piston with WD40 and pushed it back in place with the G Clamp I'd left it a few days until the morning I had it booked in with my mechanic. It must have done the trick as after all as it worked fine driving it to the garage. He had a look over it and said it was fine. Fingers crossed it keeps it working for the next while. Thanks

Good luck with the sale dude. Hope it sells quick and easily

Ooooooh! Zenith Grey FRs looks quite nice and still fresh enough for a 10yr old shape. Think this may be my new favourite. Seemingly they can be mapped up to 190bhp easily enough as well, although they don't handle anything like the Civic lol

Good to hear you're still enjoying it. It must be decent enough if you're not looking to change much on it. Just wait until you get the money for your MB6. You'll be looking to spend all the money on some nice wind deflectors and an air freshner -
Was that the Compressor model with the supercharger? A Fabia VRs isn't a bad shout actually. Added to the list I've been looking at those little Ibiza FRs as well. Seems alot of car for a budget runabout.

Always sad news to hear of deaths on the roads. Thoughts are with the families of all affected. RIP Hope the ones in the Shogun recover.

I want something that's going to be reliable, cheapish to maintain but still be fun up to a max of around £3,000. I want to be able to put my spending money towards getting a hybrid turbo on my S3 rather than keep maintaining this Honda. So far I've been thinking of - mk4 Golf GTI turbo or V6 4motion (probably less fun but hopefully a bit more reliable) - Lupo GTI (I've always wanted one of these and prices are starting to come down a bit) - Clio 182 or 197 (I've owned a Clio before and although it rattled like mad it was alot of fun and reliable enough until it exploded lol) - Corolla T Sport (I know nothing about them other than they are almost 200bhp. Seems a bit more subtle than an EP3, but is that because they look a bit dull?) - Yaris T Sport (I love the look of these, engines seem indestructable, but the wife has a 1.0 Yaris and thinks its a womans car) or perhaps a bit of an oddball one but those Fiat Panda 100hp look like fun, even if the thought of owning an Italian car makes me worried! My wife thinks they are the most feminine looking things around

Thanks lads. I had a figure around £1,650 in my head for advertising and see where I go from there. I'd have ripped your arm off too!! lol

Bumping this thread I'm trying to figure out a value for my VTI-S and looking some opinions on what I might offer it at. 1999 73,536 miles Full year MOT Service history with most recent stamp in November 2014. Standard, apart from a 2.5" system (I just removed the DC2 airbag to sell separately). Bodywork in decent condition with just some small surface bubbling on the arches and a bit of rust on the drivers sill. Undersealed Four Uniroyal Rainsport 3s with lots of tread still left In the last 4,000 miles its had new shocks, brake discs, pads, thermostat, fuel tank, timing belt and water pump. I've seen leggy ones at around £1,500 these days but not sure if they're sitting around for long. Thanks

So this was this was what was causing my brake issues The car sat in the drive over most of Christmas although I did bring it in the garage one afternoon and greased up the pads and pins. I pushed the stuck piston back in to the caliper after scraping a load of gunk off it and fired a ton of WD40 around the piston under the rubber seal. This seems to have fixed it for now, however I left the car at my friendly mechanics on Monday and he looked over my work just incase I missed something. Last night I took the car for its MOT and it flew through The tester actually said it looked like a nice clean car lol I've started making a list of possible replacements so it would be nice if it played nice with me for a month or two so I can gather up some funds.

5 out of 8 completed. I can't complain about that.
-
Thanks everyone. I'm gonna leave it at a mechanic friends on Monday, although if he has time I'd like him to go through bleeding the brakes with me as it's something I've wanted to learn. Thanks Dave for the offer of the calipers. It's going for its MOT on Tuesday so let's hope it's a simple enough fix but I'll get back to you if I need the calipers off you

Thanks everyone. I bought a G Clamp and tried Toms method today which got the piston back in the caliper. I regreased the pins and copper greased the edges of the pads and tried to get as much WD40 inside the piston rubber that I could. When I apply the brake it sticks again though so would a faulty brake line be the next possible culprit?
-
Ta. I'll give that a go. I gave up for tonight but will give that a go tomorrow. Also gonna head out and buy myself a few new tools just incase as I'm stupidly short of some essentials for forcing stuff. G-clamp, crowbar etc

My front passenger-side piston has seized I had hoped it was something simple that was sticking so removed the caliper to clean and grease the clips and ends of the pads. The caliper was a little tricky getting off and once I removed it I discovered that the piston was stuck out. I serviced the rest of the bits and pieces and now can't get the caliper back on as the piston is out too far. Any thoughts on how I can get it to move back in again? Even temporarily until I can get it to a mechanics? I don't have the right tools or knowhow to take the caliper off
